I travelled to Callander with a group of friends for a wedding. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfy. Service was friendly and the beer was well priced :)
It was a great location to explore the cute shops of Callander, there are many cheap charity shops, filled to the brim with great crockery and bits and bobs.
The hotel was good value, you can't complain for £60 per night! But just be aware that the
rooms at the front can be noisy as there is a surprising amount of traffic. The breakfast was okay (ish) - we were treated to burnt toast one morning and I think it would be nice to offer vegetarian haggis or sausages as an option.
The best thing about the hotel is the price and the clean and comfy bed.
The worst thing for me was the floor in the bathrooms, it is the same as that behind the bar and I really didn't like it.
Service was friendly, just a little hit and miss. None of the staff knew where the church for the wedding was, and it's a small town.
But all in all, I would stay in the hotel again.
