“suitable base to explore callander”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

I travelled to Callander with a group of friends for a wedding. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfy. Service was friendly and the beer was well priced :)
It was a great location to explore the cute shops of Callander, there are many cheap charity shops, filled to the brim with great crockery and bits and bobs.
The hotel was good value, you can't complain for £60 per night! But just be aware that the
rooms at the front can be noisy as there is a surprising amount of traffic. The breakfast was okay (ish) - we were treated to burnt toast one morning and I think it would be nice to offer vegetarian haggis or sausages as an option.
The best thing about the hotel is the price and the clean and comfy bed.
The worst thing for me was the floor in the bathrooms, it is the same as that behind the bar and I really didn't like it.
Service was friendly, just a little hit and miss. None of the staff knew where the church for the wedding was, and it's a small town.
But all in all, I would stay in the hotel again.

“Good value”

Stayed for 3 nights,1st impressions weren't good as you went into a busy bar and staircase up to rooms a bit dated.Room spacious and recently refurbished with good shower, clean and tidy on arrival but was not cleaned on the Saturday, which was a bit disappointing.Stayed in a room on the front of the hotel which got some traffic noise in the early hours.Good breakfast, pleasant staff.
Callander was ideal as a centre to go walking, nice Italian restaurant.

“Will be booking in again!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2009

Greeted by a lovely chap, shown to our room, We had booked a family room. which turned out the kids had a room of ours!!!!. what can I say after camping for 3 nights with 2 small children, but absolute luxury and very clean.:)
We were told the main hotel door would be locked a t 10pm, but we could get access through the bar, but having small children that was no problem to us.
Meal was fresh, fantastic and very reasonable.
Had a great evening in the pub downstairs. Band on that night wasn't the best, but hey ho!
The only thing I would have changed about this hotel was to have booked on the Saturday night when Bugsy was playing!!!
This hotel is an all round fantastic deal.
Thanks guy's and we will be back.

“Nice cosy hotel good food & impressive rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2009

We stayed for a night at the waverley for our wedding anniversary. It looks more of a pub than a hotel on first impressions but has a cosy lounge with comfy leather sofas and plasma tv. Our room was a good size, modern and en-suite was nice. We were facing the main street which was fine during the day but at 4am a lorry pulled up across the road & delivered it's haul which wasn't ideal when people are trying to sleep! Couldn't fault the hotel or staff and would go back there as great value for money!
