Most Americans suffer major "sticker-shock" when traveling in Europe, but the Premier Inn chain (over 600 locations in the UK and Ireland) was a real revelation. (US motel/hotel chains could learn a lot from Premier) The rooms are a little small by US standards, and have no phones, clocks, microwaves or fridges - but we stayed in an immaculately clean, warm, modern room with a great hot breakfast for the equivalent of $ 30.00 per night !! This was a web-price (premierinn.com.uk) The rooms all have bathrooms (don't laugh) - not always the case in Europe, as well as TVs and coffee (tea) makers. Chippenham was near Bath, and the chain has many locations in metropolitan areas as well as rural and scenic destinations. We will use Premier every chance we get.

We found the staff to be a delight and they made our stay pleasant and comfortable. The room standard was excellent with a minor quibble about the shower being of the mixer type variety. It was not easy to get the temperature to the right level. That apart the 3 nights we stayed there over Christmas Eve to the bank holiday Tuesday were a delight. There is a Morrisons supermarket across the roundabout with a pharmacy attached. Our double bed was a King Size and we were told that was true of all the beds in this PI.

I Stayed here on Christmas Eve night 2011. The hotel is very comfortable with very clean and modern rooms. I paid £29 for a family room and it was exceptional value. The staff are superb - if you visit this area, stay here.

Excellent value for money ,friendly considerate staff, warm comfortable rooms will definitly use Premier Inns again
