We stayed at this Travelodge on June 13/11 which is a moto service area. Travel bus services stop, for their rest periods here, so it can get quite busy. There are a number of places to eat inside the moto service, and "free" wireless wifi.

We arrived early, but had no trouble getting a room, which was ground floor and away from the busy section of the moto service. We had the family room which is very spacious and clean. Our bed was comfortable and we had no problem getting a good nights sleep.

The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She knew the area quite well and explained how to get to a pub that served up tasty meals within walking distance, and we thought to give it a try after sitting in the car most of the day. The path/road is at the back through the do not enter sign - locals ignore this sign and continue through. We did try to walk towards the pub, but it is a good 2 miles and it is a little iffy trying to walk along that road, so we decided to drive instead. We found the pub and met up with another couple who had walked and was staying at the Travelodge. I just ordered a "side" salad and was shocked to find it was more a meal than a side and every bit delicious, as promised. I'm sorry, I can not remember the name of this pub, nor of the young lady at the front. Although, she worked the early shift, and had to work the evening as well. Thank you!

This was an overnight stop off on a long journey with 3 small children and it served its purpose. It was clean and warm. We paid the sale price which was very cheap.

However, once there, there's nothing to do apart from wander round a very small service station and the "family room" was tiny. The pull out bed had mattresses of differing heights so it was a squeeze with two babies and an adult (I got the seam!)

Staff were pleasant and helpful.

If I had paid the full price, I would have complained about the standard and if Travelodge charge the full price on a regular basis, they really need to up their game at their Chippenham hotel. Our Travelodge experience on the return trip (Cardiff Whitchurch) was different and much better.

I stayed here once before several years ago, and this lodge remains as good as ever.Yes, it's basic, but its clean, well located (note road bridge linking E & W M4 locations), they are v friendly and at ￡29 per night you cant go wrong. Parking is copious and free, the adjacent Motorway Services cater for just about anything you can imagine, and the road and rail network will take you more or less anywhere withiut too much hassle

I paid about £23 for a night's stay, room was clean etc very good value for money. Lovely pub in near by village. Don't bother with the offer of reduced price breakfast in services, m&s in services do some nice bits n bibs.
