29 pounds a night in summer, not bad. The room was OK. We don't expect too much actually. The room is very basic. Be aware that there is no elevator. A good rest place after visiting Bath, about half an hour of driving. Because it located on the Motorway, food and gasoline shouldn't be a problem.

Very disappointed with this travelodge. We arrived to find no parking spaces and the outside of the travelodge to be very overgrown and well poorly looked after. We entered the reception where the receptionist didnt welcome us just asked "name" then she said "put registration in machine" gave me the key and we went to our room. The room was at the end of the musty corridor and once in we noticed that there was a terrible squeeling noise which turned out to be when someone up above us used the shower. It did stop obviously but not good start. The lights to the side of the bed had torn lampshades and my partner could just tap the lampshade and the light went off. The bed was very close to the wall obviously because of the pull out bed (family room) but could it not be altered? There were new radiators but they had not decorated where the old ones were, we had one pillow each and one spare one so asked reception for more but the helpful (not) receptionist said the linen cupboard was locked and the cleaners had the keys so no we couldnt have another pillow. The spoons were bent up the kettle scaled. The walls needed some decoration and well I would say this was a definate £19 per night hotel and to pay the £39 is not worth it at all. Very disappointed!!!

This is about my 10th visit to the 2 Travelodges situated on the Eastbound & West carriageways of the M4 near Chippenham.
I use them when I want a midweek minibreak in Bath (about 25 mins drive away). Whenever Travelodge have their cheap deals running, it is usually easy to get a booking in one or other of these sites (not easy to get a cheapie in Bath itself, although I once managed to get the Bath Waterside one).
I was at the Eastbound Travelodge on this occasion.
I agree that the rooms are looking a little 'tired'. However, they serve the purpose well ie
excellent value
excellent location
clean & functional room
clean bathroom with lots of piping hot water
clean bed (& very comfy mattress)
quiet
TV
kettle & tea/coffee making stuff

The girls on check in desk (both on arrival & departure) were really friendly & helpful

Parking was close by

My only (tiny) gripe is that I always struggle to find how to get the car to the correct place - signs aren't good. I am always scared that I'll end up on the slip road back onto the motorway which would be a disaster. Every time, I have to park the car & walk to see exactly where to go or go & ask someone.

One tip for anyone who can only get a room on the 'wrong' side of the motorway for them - go ahead & book as there is a 'short cut' to get you over the side. The reception staff will give you instructions.

I can thoroughly recommend Travelodges & use them many times a year.

Room was very basic.Had ants in bathroom and in the bed.Mattress was ripped with spring sticking out.Towels dirty.Moved to another room.Hair and make up on chair and table.Bed was very uncomfortable and had no sleep.
The whole place needs a good clean and decor badly needs updating.
Rang to confirm booking and answer from receptionist was "Have you rung up to complain"
