We used this as a stopover to break a long journey and had a very cheap deal at £19 a night but the place needs improving. It wasn't the easiest to find in the service station because you access it via the HGV area. There was plenty of parking but you need to enter your vehicle registration at reception otherwise you are only entitled to stay 2 hours. Traffic noise from the M4 is a constant hum in the background but we got used to it.
The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. The building has no lift so the receptionist transferred us to a ground floor room because my wife is disbled.
The room was fairly clean but didn't smell very nice. The carpet was well worn and the bathroom showed signs of wear and tear. The bedding and towels were clean and the bed reasonably comfortable. The bathroom had a bath with a shower over and there was plenty of hot water. Sound insulation is poor and I think the room above us had a baby elephant as a pet because the ceiling shook as they moved around.
Meals are available in the adjoining service area about two minutes walk away. There is also a M&S store so you can get a reasonable snack if you don't want a cooked meal.
This was the poorest Travelodge we have stayed in and we wouldn't rush back. but it served a purpose for very little money.
