“Great last minute stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012 via mobile

Thank you to Druid House's owners for being able to accommodate my fiancé and I at such short notice. We didn't expect much for a last minute bookin but when we arrived we were more than pleasantly surprised!
The room was absolutely gorgeous, so clean and with everything that you could wish for, even a door to our own patio area and a table and chairs inside the room.
Also in the information booklet there were names of local resteraunts and tea rooms etc so we knew exactly where to go in the evening for what we wanted!

The breakfast was lovely too, every type of tea you could wish for, fruit, cereal and the full English was great even catering for me being a vegetarian.
If you didn't want a full English there were also lighter choices on the menu to suit everyone.

Just off of the Breakfast Room there was a lounge/bar that we didn't use as it was closed but we thought this was a fantastic idea for the summer season when it was open.

We paid a very reasonable price and even though we werent keen on Christhurch itself we would definitely go back and stay in Druids House if we were visiting the surrounding area.

Thank you and keep up the good work!

“Great parking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Great location. Fantastic breakfast. As comfortable as it was clean. (I'm an ex-chambermaid so I know where to check!) The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. I just wish we'd visited in the Summer so we could have enjoyed the outside patios on our rooms.

Room Tip: Specify whether you want a walk in shower or shower over bath. There's a choice of rooms.

“80`S DECOR”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

We have just come back from a one night stay at the DRUID. We were warmly welcomed & duly shown to our room which was very clean apart from the toilet seat which was in bad need of replacement. It was peeling & damaged! Not nice. Very dated bathroom but clean. Towels were nice soft & fluffy. But surprised they were not white? Added touch of bathrobes were a nice extra. Bed was very comfy & pillows also. Breakfast was fabulous. Every conceivable wish was on the menu. EXCELLENT. Apart from some minor issues all in all an excellent stay & definately worth considering. Would have preffered it to be cheaper in the winter months though. Just a stroll into town was great. Lovely local pub THE SHIP has live music at the weekend & also serves good food. If you want more upmarket surroundings THE CAPTAINS CLUB which looks over the water is an excellent night out for food & live entertainment in the bar. We love Christchurch as a town as nice places to visit nearby & great places to eat & drink. Sure we`ll be back next year!

Room Tip: We had king size room at back of house with outside large patio area. would be lovely in summer mont...

“Absolutely first class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We really loved our stay at this place. Is really central, immaculately clean and a wonderful breakfast (the bacon is the best ever!) Loved the idea of a little terrace outside the room and a door leading to the outside so plenty of fresh air if needed. The power shower was really efficient and beds are really comfortable. Everyone courteous and friendly without being intrusive and the room felt really private and could hear no noise from any other rooms. Would definitely stay again - although pricey is well worth it. I really cannot think of any negatives so say - go try it!

“wonderful find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

we looked on line to find a good quality bb for a few nights stay in Christchurch and liked the look of Druid House from their web site. not always easy to find a hotel or bb which can accomodate 2 adults and two young boys, however Druid House had the rooms to accomade a family of 4 ( all in seperate beds). What a fantastic find, lovely room, very clean and comfortable with lovely bed linen and lots of scatter cushions to all of the beds. TV with extra channels and a built in cd good for the boys dvds, room for a chair and good size dressing table, provided with tea and coffee making facilites and complete with biscuits. Still with room to move around and a seperate en-suite with lovely size shower. We were in a down stairs room so had a door leading out onto a small patio area complete with table and chairs for our use and with views down a lovely garden but still with privacy from adjacent rooms. The building was well laid out with lovely size common rooms to sit and read or relax in , nice and light and airy with views to the garden, very nice central dining room with lovely fiitings and place settings. What a fantastic selection for breakfast, help yourself to juice, cereals and the normal selection from the side buffet and then enjoy the fantastic selection off the cooked menu, tryied most things on there and all served to perfection and very tasty, definately a five star breakfast. We went out most days after breakfast , great central location for the area and on returning on an evening used the lovely bar area plus its seperate lounge area to relax and enjoy our gin and tonics. Will we be back , most definately , looking forward to it already
