Was offered this hotel as an alternative as the company we had booked through had double booked our original request (whole different story and nothing to do with this review).
The exterior of the hotel is very disctinctive in this small market town, quite a nice find and you can see it comes with history. The front gardens has what it looks to be small church archways, but i am not sure as to its previous uses.
The rooms we booked (1 and 2) were very very spacious, easily big enough for a couple of extra beds, so families need not book extra rooms. They could do with a little modernising and a touch of TLC, they could be a little more upmarket but i guess for the price you pay they are just trying to get trade through the door.
Floors were very creaky and the noises from the room above kept me awake until the occupants finally stopped moving the furniture around (or least thats what it sounded like).
This isnt a hotel as such, there is no reception or anyone to speak with should you have a problem, so the word "Hotel" is a little misleading.
If i hadnt had such poor customer service from MJB i would probably have booked this again but they really let me down and i am loathed to part with anymore of my money to this company.
Lastly, they have a strange check in time of 4pm and check out at 10am. This really isnt suitable especially as there is no left luggage facility.
