We chose this hotel as it was iddeally located in Dereham. We had cycled from home in Wymondham, 15 miles away and we were ready for a little rest and recuperation!. We arrived at this town pub/hotel having been past it several times. The reception we got when we arrived was excellent. The lady at reception went to great lengths to find somewhere we could safely store our bikes for the night. Having done this we were shown to our room. On first sight it appeared to be a bit on the basic side, but once we were settled in and found the wonderful shower/bathroom and the comfortable bed, we were more than happy. So far so good. We opted to dine in the restaurant and we had an absolutely first class meal. The menu choice was excellent, the friendly (nothing too much trouble), efficient service was second to none. The restaurant had a pleasant ambience to make the whole dining experience most pleasant. It is a pity we were able to stay only one night. However we will definitely come back. Well done to the Kings Head, Dereham!

Firstly I must praise the staff who were lovely and really went out of their way to help, and the bedding was very clean. We stayed just for Saturday night as we were at a wedding nearby. However there was a nightclub exactly opposite our room which was so loud you could hear every beat and every drunken obscenity as if it was in the same room The local lads from the club took great pleasure in sounding their air-horns and revving their engines just outside the bedroom window. Once this all died down at shortly after 3am, we noticed a rattle just behind the wall of our bed which came on approximately every 10 minutes throughout the remainder of the night and sounded like a washing machine on full spin. The walls were also so thin we could hear people returning from the club vomiting until about 5 am.
Came down at 9am and sat at table for breakfast that was so sticky that I had to use both hands to pull my teacup up off it. The waitress was rushed off her feet, but again very friendly and helpful.

Very pleasant stay, would recommend. No problems at all, good location.

stayed at this hotel for one night, upon check the staff where not very helpfull, didnt know what time breakfast was and didnt offer any services ie, a reservation in the restaurant, or any room extras, didnt tell us when we had to check out, or when to pay balance! the bar was expensive for drinks, we ended up at the local indian restsaurant in town reccomended by the owner off the hotel! which was great, room was basic, bed was very comfy, and had a huge bathroom. breakfast was ok, but again no menu was provided, and service was sloppy. didnt think this hotel was worth the money.
