Just got back from the murder mystery wkend and it was fantastic. I will be returning again and i would recommend this hotel and murder mystery wkend to everyone. Food lovely and the service good. The decor is in keeping with the hotel. Nice 10/15 min walk into grange over sands town centre loved it.

Just returned from two night break at the Grand - not!! It must have been quite a place in its heyday back at the turn of the last century! But, sadly, now it needs a complete overhaul to get it back up to scratch. The beds were very hard, making it difficult to sleep! The grounds, which could be lovely need to be tidied up. The rooms need a lick of paint and a makeover, as do the corridors and public areas. The dining room is impressive with some lovely views over the Kent estuary towards Silverdale. The ballroom is also impressive but could do with a facelift, too. On the plus side the staff were friendly and helpful and the food, whilst basic, was plentiful and hot. For the price c. £42 for D, B&B, (we were with a party of around 30), I suppose we shouldn't complain, however, there's a crying need for some TLC as the hotel could be truly grand if someone spent a (good) bit on it!

We visited this hotel for a birthday weekend break. I wish we had not bothered!! Our room on first inspection looked clean enough and had a four poster bed, and views over the gardens. we then looked at the bathroom on the back of the door were two bathrobes, nice touch you would think not so as one of them was covered in left over toilet mess.(a polite description)
The meals are average and because of coach parties staying you may have a long wait for food. the car park is up a steep hill and parking is hit and miss and if a coach arrives you may get stuck as we did. After arriving back in the room I went for a shower only to discover water pouring through the caeling from above, the manager cleaned it up with towels and expected us to stay in the room that night.(health and safety wires and water) the lack of politeness with dealing with us was amazing. we did not stay any longer.
My advice if you like rooms that need updating, poor food, rude staff , and lack of basic health and safety issues then this is the hotel for you. Otherwise avoide this hotel at all costs.

Basic Hotel, basic food, basic rooms – all basic but nothing wrong.
The hotel is very large with great views over the bay.
Dinner is carvery / buffet style which changes every night. Breakfast is plentiful and good porridge is available if requested (I am a Scot)
Rooms are standard hotel rooms, clean but a little tired, although some of our party had recently refurbished rooms and were most impressed.
