“Beautiful hotel in fabulous setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

The bedrooms are in need of updating but are comfortable and fit for purpose. They are a little out of context with the rest of the hotel, which is nothing short of amazing. The main communal rooms are fabulously comfortable and breathtaking. The staff were all polite and the food is excellent. In terms of value for money, you can not really complain.

“Top Hotel in Grange over Sands”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Wow!
Fantastic hotel.
It was a cold damp November afternoon and I was attending a charity ball at this very impressive hotel.
Despite the weather, a warm and welcome smile greeted me at the reception desk. The manager and staff were all extremely helpfull.
The room (No 32) was tastefully decorated and very well equiped with tea & coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, plenty of room and a comfortable bed. The en-suite bathroom was clean and tidy with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable.
The hotel offers a superb lounge with comfortable leather suites, surrounded with antique oak paneling.
The food was extremely well presented and served by staff who actually looked like they were enjoying themselves and happy to assist to any of your needs.
A good choice of wines were on offer, along with an excellent range of malt whiskey's.
A very enjoyable evening indeed.

The following morning I was presented with a good choice of breakfast. I decided to go for the full English. Sausage, egg, bacon, black pudding, beans, mushrooms & toast. Again this was presented extremely well with happy smiling staff. The view from the breakfast room is stunning, as the sun rises across Morcambe bay.
I could not fault this hotel and had a most enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend this to anyone who wants to explore Grange over sands and South Lakeland.

Extremely good value for money.

“Beautiful traditional hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

We stayed one night only as we were attending the Ball in the hotel, we were greeted by really friendly reception staff who checked us in instantly. We took our luggage to our room and came back down to have the most beautiful afternoon tea in front of the massive coal fire. The hotel is decorated for Christmas and it was beautiful done, very festive. The views from our bedroom was fabulous and the toiletries were beautiful. I can't fault the hotel in any way. I wanted to stay longer. We left reluctantly after a beautiful full English breakfast. But I will most surely be back!!!

Room Tip: Have the afternoon tea, it's amazing!

“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

We went to this hotel on a 5-day bridge break with another couple. Stunning location and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. On arrival we requested some more hangers as the dozen that were there were not adequate ( we don't travel light!) Five minutes later and a knock at the door and another 30 arrived. Our room was very spacious and had a view of the sea with a lovely ensuite. The food in the restaurant was superb with a wonderful choice each night. If I hadn't have known better I would have thought we were in a Michelin star restaurant. The bridge was well organised and the topics for the seminars were reinforced with pre prepared bridge hands giving practice for what was just learnt. Bridge players ranged from the experienced to someone who had only had a few lessons and the duplicate evenings were at a gentle pace and not too ferocious. I would recommend this hotel for any type of break especially for those who like to walk as the surrounding area has some lovely scenery.
