We were invited to a family wedding at The Grange Hotel in Grange-over-Sands and decided to book the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding in the hotel itself rather than a B+B option in Grange . As part of the wedding party, the Hotel offered guests a package with a reduction on the usual tariff. We arrived just after 2pm ( check in time )and were given the key to our room. I just mentioned that we had the luggage for my Mother- in- Law with us as she would be checking in later. The lady on Reception gave us the key to her room to allow us to leave her case for her, which saved time and was more convenient for all. We got a lovely surprise when we opened the door to our room-- very spacious with a four poster bed and a large chaise longe, but the best bit of all was the large `stand alone` bath in the bedroom itself. You might think that, with the bath being in the bedroom, the bathroom might be small but , no, the bathroom was large - entered through double doors - with `his+hers` sinks and a shower unit large enough to fit a football team in ! We met family in the Lounge area in the evening and ate from the Hotel`s varied Bar menu in a relaxed , informal atmosphere. The wedding itself was arranged very well, the Hotel staff assisting where and when required. The service was held in a lovely room which , if not for the weather, would have given views across Morecambe Bay. The room arranged for the evening had a large terrace with wrought iron tables and chairs, and the railings around had been dressed with white chiffon bows and fairy lights. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to make use of that area but it was the Lake District in November ! The meal was lovely and service was efficient and polite, which was what we experienced right through until our departure the next morning. The breakfasts were really good and the Lounge areas really nice and relaxing. The entire Hotel was spotless, including the pool area which my wife made use of and was really impressed with. The check out time of 11 am was `blurred ` as the relaxed attitude of the Reception staff allowed us all a leisurely departure. My wife had never visited this part of the Lake District before and really enjoyed it. We will definitely stay in this area again -- at The Grange Hotel!. Highly recommended.
