Husband was skydiving and had to be there by 8.30 on both days that we stayed. Our hosts were great! They provided an early breakfast for us which would knock spots off some much higher starred hotels I have stayed in. They really looked after us.
I would recommend it to anyone visiting this part of the country.

Although this hotel is up the hill behind Grange and on a wet day the approach can lead you to believe that it really can't be up here. Once there it's a warm place to stay, have a good bottle of wine with the excellent food and wish that the weather was good enough to let you explore the huge gardens around the place. The room had a huge four poster bed that for a short person meant a jump to get in; fun though.The room looked south but the trees down the hill prevented any sea views. We will go back and pray for some sun to enjoy the area. Ask about the 3 nights for the price of two! Oh and the breakfast was all you could want.

To echo most of the previous reviews a really nice peaceful hotel to spend a couple of days. Location a brisk walk at the top of the hill in the woods above Grange over Sands is both secluded and quiet.
The home cooked food in the evening is first rate and great value for the quality of it, Lamb Shanks are especially good. Breakfast is good to, liked the thick cut Bacon, would have liked two Sausages.
The hotel is rated two stars I think, if I am correct in thinking that it is probably one of the best two star hotels around.
Expensive euro city breaks with nightmare airports / eurostar no longer for me, chuck my bags in the car and head for the lakes.

we stayed at this hotel for the cartmel races the hotel is lovely oldy worldy and the owners and staff are lovely ,we stayed in room 6 over looking the garden which was spotless and big bathroom with toileters and plenty of hot water.the food was excellent
as was the breakfast.i would recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet and good service from very friendly people.
