“absolutely amazing guest house with equally as amazing hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

We went to An Cala for our wedding anniversary and our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer.

We were in the 4 poster room which was amazing and I dont think I have ever slept in a more comfortable bed.

The breakfast was amazing as well and it was just the right amout. Everything from Val and Keiths friendliness and helpfulness to the location makes this a must stay if your going to visit Grantown on Spey (and Vals baking is amazing as well!).

“You couldn't find a more gracious and welcoming hostess!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

We stayed one night at An Cala and Val made us so welcome! She served us coffee and home-made cake on arrival - she really made us feel at home.

The rooms are tastefully decorated with old world grace and charm. There were many special touches to make guests stay that little more comfortable.

Breakfast was generous and very well cooked in a lovely dining room. we appreciated having our own table.

Overall, a very comfortable stay! Highly recommended!

“Deservedly 5 star”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2010

Stayed at An Cala for 2 nights at the end of June. Located just at the edge of Grantown on spey, it was very easy to find. Val and Keith couldn't have been more hospitable, with great local knowledge.
We stayed in the 4 poster room and I have to say, the bed was just about the best we've ever had on an away trip.
I'd go back to Grantown on spey as a centre for outdoor activities in the Highlands no problem and I'd certainly try An Cala as my first option.

“Elegant and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2009

After planning my trip for 6 months, I discovered that I had left a day unaccounted for. How could I do that? We had booked the An Cala for 2 nights, staying in the 4 poster room, which was really comfortable. We inquired about vacancy for a third night and we ended up staying another night in room 2, which we liked as much as the 4 poster. So what did we like? Peter was very helpful in suggesting things to do. We tackled Ben Rinney and discovered that we might not be in as good shape as we thought we were. Val was equally helpful and always offering us tea. We did a load of wash there (rather Val did it) for a moderate fee, and we hung it out to dry. While we were away, it rained and when we returned Peter had taken the wash in and folded it for us. Above and beyond the call of duty. Excellent breakfasts, good location, ducks in the front yard, downtown within walking distance, and a park (where we spotted deer) nearby. We're happy we stayed there and heartily recommend it.

“Spoilt rotten!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2009

An Cala is a delightful B&B that really spoils you. We went with my father, and Val went out of her way to ensure that every whim was catered for: pots of tea and home made cake when we returned from walks, delicious home-cooked breakfasts. The rooms are beautifully decorated. We had the four poster, overlooking the front garden. It was very tastefully done in pale blues in very high quality fabrics and antiques. We could see red squirrels frolicking on the lawn!
Highly recommended.
