“Outstanding service, fantastic food, clean, clean, clean!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011 via mobile

Iv just returned from a 2 night stay at The Bromley and cannot fault it. Stuart cannot do enough for you from the minute you arrive until you leave. Carrying my suitcase to my room, offering a jug of fresh milk for the tea tray and general friendliness, Stuart was the perfect host. The breakfast is delicious and the full English is served PIPING-HOT, a bug bear of mine to have the lukewarm egg or cold mushrooms etc. Evening meal equally good. Room was spotless, as was the en-suite, and bed very comfortable. I would definitely return.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

We booked The Bromley last minute for our wedding anniversary and were delighted with our stay.

From the moment we arrived the level of service provided by Stuart was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble; in fact when he knew it was our anniversary he arranged for a free bottle of champagne to be sent up to our room.

The room itself was beautifully decorated and had an extremely comfortable four poster bed. The bathroom was also excellent, decorated again to a very high standard and very clean. It is also worth saying that although the hotel is very near a main shopping street, the room was extremely quiet.

The breakfast was superb and the evening meal was also of a very high standard.

Overall, we really could not have asked any more of our stay.

“Fantistic hotel, amazing food, lovely owner :) :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2011

A note: Sorry that this is a fairly long review, but I couldn't do it justice with a brief statement!

Me and my husband stayed here with our two small children for one night in the family room, but wished it had been for longer. When we arrived, the owner Stuart made a fuss of the children and gave them a drink of orange from the bar and a coke for myself, which I thought was a lovely touch.

He then showed us to our room, showed us how everything worked and left us to it. First of all the room was flawless and beautifully decorated. We couldn't find a spot of dust... and we looked... as we couldn't find fault, and there was no fault to be found! The room had everything you need, from a fully stocked and very reasonably priced mini-bar, a fully stocked complimentary-tray, including hot chocolate, luxury biscuits and various coffees. The tv in the room had a integrated dvd player, again a nice touch, and another one in the separate room for the children, another nice touch, as normally you all share the same space. The bathroom was small, but the other bathrooms I gather are bigger, but we did have the extra bedroom for the kids, which is more worthwhile to us) but perfectly clean, had little toiletries and lovely fluffy towels, which were massive, no trying to dry yourself with a 'towel' the size of a flannel here!!

The bedding, curtains, carpets and all the other furnishings first of all matched (a real issue I have, is cheap mismatching furniture and furnishings!) and were of excellent quality and very warm and homey. My daughter had a gorgeous wooden bed with 'big fluffy bedding' as she called it, and my son slept on a Thomas 'readybed' that we bought from home, as family rooms sleep 2 adults and one child, as we knew, but Stuart said my son was more than welcome and said he could arrange something for him, but we were already equipped!

The food was amazing, we had dinner in the restaurant that night, which Stuart cooked himself, and it was not possible to fault the food at all. We had fillet steaks, and lasagne and the chips were handed cut and cooked fresh, no oven food, it was all home-made. Eloise and Connor loved the food, and promptly thanked him for it! The breakfast was well cooked and hearty and once again, we all enjoyed it immensely.

The owner couldn't help you enough, nothing was too much trouble, but he didn't hang around and harass you either. He left you to it when you wanted to be by yourselves, but was friendly and obliging when you needed it. He was also really good with the children, he called them by their names and spoke to them like they mattered as much as me and my husband, he didn't make us feel like they were a nuisance, and when he served dinner, he still ran and got a candle for the table 'for mummy and daddy', which we thought was lovely. It is clear that this owner takes pride in his establishment, and the price was a bargain for the service you receive, I have no grumbles and will be returning again in the summer. Me and my husband would like to take advantage of the luxurious double rooms for a break to ourselves, but we live 2.5 hours away with no babysitters to hand which is a real pity.

One last thing, the hotel is close enough to be within walking distance to the seafront amenities and the shops, but also not on top of it that you get all the noise. Perfect! Yes I have gushed, and believe me I don't do that often, I usually find faults but credit where credit is due, this was a lovely stay in a lovely B&B, no wonder it got it's 4 stars silver rating... I would have given it a gold personally. :) Thanks very much Stuart!

“another great stay at the bromley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2011

Just returned from another great stay at this hotel, had a lovely easter break, Jill and Stuart had placed cream eggs in the room for our easter break it's always these nice little touches that make this such a great place to stay, we have been back twice since we wrote our last review and still strongly recommend you stay here if you like very high standards of comfort and cleanliness and how welcome you are made to feel, this hotel is becoming like a second home and we are always sad to have to leave and are already planning our next visit !
