“Cherry trees Burgh castle”

We have stayed at Cherry trees for three years in a row, Always the October Half term week, Due to our children swimming for a swimming team. The first year we had a three bed caravan top grade which was nice, the 2nd year I booked very late and paid £200 for a two bed caravan . When I turned up I thought we would be getting a hovel, but found a lovely large two bed caravan that is privately hired from Park Dean. So much so I re booked same caravan this year. The park is not perfect, But the safety of the children is great, The freedom they get is perfect and I feel that I could honestly say the holiday is worth the money.

Room Tip: Try to ask for a caravan in the Grove as its lovely

We booked a mon-fri break, me, my partner,my 7year old son and pet dog had one caravan and my parents had another. We were right on the first main road opposite the small park so off to a good start. The caravan was ok, we were abit worried as we had read reviews saying that the pet friendly caravans were pretty poor, so we were nicely surprised when we got to ours. It wasn't as clean as i would of liked but then im ocd when it comes to cleaning so i just got over it. The bed linen looked clean and fresh so at least we had clean beds, we slept very well too, maybe due to all the sea air. Our caravan was very well equipped and had everything you would need to self cater if you chose to we decided to get takeaways in at night, we had some lovely meals and they were reasonably priced often with free delivery to the caravan which was nice if you wanted to have a drink early evening . The caravan park itself was very nice, a lovely indoor pool, crazy golf, and two playgrounds with the Showbar as entertainment at night although the on-site shop was overpriced we tended to go to tesco's or asda as they were only a five minute drive away. We had a wonderful time, the boat hire at wroxham is a must, we used a company called One fine day and they were excellent, we hired a boat for 3hours and had a lovely picnic half way down the norfolk broads it was brilliant. Gorlestone beach is another must to do, lovely golden sand and very clean our dog loved it. We would definately go back, the Cherrytree is a good base for all and not too far out from the sights that norfolk has to offer.

Room Tip: if you can upgrade to a caravan with central heating as it gets very cold at night.

“Good park, poor caravan”

Stayed at cherry tree last weekend in september, with wife friends and 1 year old. Check in was good but very disapointed with the caraven. Carpet stained and all furnishings were worn and damaged (screws sticking out of sofas, plastic feet missing from table etc) not ideal for a one year old (black hands after ten mins crawling). Bedding and hired high chair dumped on the stairs outside and high chair was damaged and still had dried food on it from the last user. All was reported and housekeeping and maintainance arrived with an hour. Only solution was to promise a new high chair (which never arrived) and put tape over the damaged furniture to make a bit safer. Having paid for an upgrade I dread to think what the basic modals are like. The park itself is ok though. Swimming pool was reasonable with seperate childrens pool and family changing facilities. Breakfast at the restaurant which was average quality and price. Good location short drive to main tourist spots. Paid less for a haven caraven few weeks earlier which was of a much better standard. Booked park dean based on the quality at their ruda site but will think twice about booking parkdean in the future.

“DIRTY FILTHY CARAVAN”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

After a long journey due to accident on the A12 we arrived at Cherry Tree Holiday Park . Friendly check in given caravan 223 easy to find with given map. This is when it all went wrong . We had our pet dog with us so we didnt expect a 5 star caravan just a clean and warm one. The caravan was absolutly stinking and filthy. The furniture was filthy and smelt horrible .Had to make own bed ,mattress had a plastic cover but was stained and looked dirty, the toilet was dirty with hair around the bowl and the shower basin was stained . The carpet in the lounge was sticky underfoot and badly stained . The wood effect flooring was absolutly rotten dirty. We had to go to the on site shop and buy disinfectant cleaning material and wash the floors all through the van . We requested a vacume cleaner which did finally turn up and after cleaning the van we decided to sleep their instead of turning round and going home .After a sleepless night and with the caravan still stinking we went to the reception and showed them the dirty filthy cleaning cloths and asked for a change of van .This they did and did say sorry for the state of the caravan .They said it would be given a deep clean before being relet .Should have been cleaned before we were given it , even though they said it had been .We were given a non pet caravan which was certainly cleaner than the original but we still had to vacume the carpets and wash the table and working surfaces down as they were very sticky and didnt look clean . The camp looked tired and scruffy and the restaurant and bar was overpriced and the food was not of a good standard . All of the staff without exception were friendly and helpful, just glad i didnt speak to any of the cleaners !!. nobody should be expected to stay in the first caravan they gave us 223 it was just a hovel . We didnt pay a cheap bargain newspaper price of £9.95. We paid nearly full price , never again . Plenty of better sites and accommadation in Norfolk/Suffolk than Cherry Tree Holiday park .

Room Tip: Ask to see the caravan when you check in before accepting . Try and request a van at the back end of...
