“Can't be same hotel I have just stayed in when I read other reviews!”

I have just spent four days there with a group and found the hotel needing a visit from Alex Politzi the Hotel Inspector. Stayed in first floor room with double and single bed that was certainly roomy but there were mustard yellow circles behind the bed where something had been removed and left unpainted magnolia like the rest of the room. Bathroom did not have an extractor fan and there was a hole on one wall near the skirting board. Had to ask for a second hand towel and also a hairdryer. Breakfast was cooked ok [ very often waiter forgot things that we had requested eg no beans or hash browns but rest of food would say was edible certainly could not say delicious - one night my portion would not have filled a child and did not match the plates of the other persons on my table. Vegetables [frozen] were cooked to within an inch of their life.

Your review outstands all the others we have had from the group you travelled with. We do use frozen vegetables but with the peas only. I can assure you all other veg used is fresh. We are always advised by Coach Operators to cook our veg on the 'softer side' for you as opposed to a la dente which we prefer. Had you have voiced your complaints at the time, I could have moved you. Instead, you have chosen to suffer at our hands for 4 whole days. If I had checked into a hotel with as many complaints as you, I would have had the courage to speak to the Manager about it. Your expectations far outway the cost of what we recieve from your stay. None the less, we are sorry you did not have a pleasant stay with us. All our staff do there upmost to ensure all our guests enjoy themselves, but once again, had you have spoken up the first day about your room and food, this could all have been avoided.

“Lovely hotel run by lovely people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011 via mobile

Stayed at the embassy last night and it was lovely the place is very clean and the bed , although a little creeky, was very comfortable. The bedding was lovely and the room smelt gorgeous. We had dinner in the bar and it was obvious that the guy was running a one man show at the time , however he still provided excellent service and dinner was tasty. He also took the time to chat to us once the little rush was over. Breakfast was also tasty , and despite it being ruined by some test on the table next to us, who wouldn't stop bloody talking , the restaurant was lovely. All in all a lively hotel , with lovely staff well worth the money. Only downside was the towel rail needed to be tightened to the wall , because it fell off.

“Audrey and Phil S Fab weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Jus returned home to Yorkshire after a two night stay at this excellent hotel we had a brilliant double room with sea view and definitely three star and touching on four star facilities, we were shown to our room by David who was very informative and later on proved to be an excellent barman. The hotel is beautifully decorated and is spotlessly clean. it has a lovely well stocked bar which we looked forward to sitting in on an evening. on that note after checking other reviews which stated that the bar did not open until six this is incorrect it is open from twelve noon. The breakfast was more than adequate and we were well looked after nothing was too much trouble and we are definitely going back for at least a week next year well done Odette and staff.

“friendly seaside hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

this our first visit to this hotel and we were pleased with everything, clean pleasant rooms, good wholesome cuisine, decent bar and comfortable lounge. Hard working and friendly staff, we had one slight problem with an electrical problem in one of the bedrooms but rather than wait until the next mornining an electrician was employed immediatly and problem solved.
we will return to this friendly hotel.
