“Do not waste your money”

Our company use to use this hotel 5 years ago, it was ropey then thats why we moved our business. Being told this year it was being refurbished, i gave it another chance. Dont bother they have refurbished about 8 rooms and you will not get one of those. I had a room with an old tv with 4 channels, bed was broken and smelt of old fags. Its like going back to the seventies. and forget parking they rent out the spaces.
At the rate they are going, try it in 2013.
They have lost a lot of business from us.

“A bit ropey with a cold shower to boot”

Hmmm - could do with a lick of paint, a makeover in general and a new boiler! We were only supplied one towel between the two of us, however, as the shower was freezing cold, only one of us managed to brave it, so only the one was needed after all! Maybe that's their money saving plan?!
It's a real shame, coming away for the night is supposed to be a treat, but my wallpaper is intact in my bedroom at home, plus I am able to have a hot shower every morning!
A real shame as the property has so much potential given the beautiful, historic building and prime location. Parking was included though so that was a bonus.

Room Tip: keep looking - I am sure something in Yarmouth wil provide that 'home from home' feel. Whwn...

“NEVER AGAIN!!!!”

we ended up in the honeymoon suite believe me if it was my wedding night i would of cried!!! stained carpet, holes in the walls, very tatty indeed. breakfast was a joke we waited over an hour for our food. we had to find our own butter for our toast which was crusts of bread!!, no side plates no spoons to stir our coffee, not enough staff the boss did step in to help but that wasnt enough and to be honest an unshaven man with shirt not tucked in and wearing a coat is not really what anyone would want at breakfast. breakfast once we got it was ok apart from the very cheap sausage, the staff are friendly but not enough of them, the sheets were clean but bedroom was very tatty even had to get the cleaners up to our room as there was blood on the floor!!! not sure how they got there 3 star raiting but believe me i have been in better 1 star places. just wish i had seen a few truthful reviews before i booked as i would of gone somewhere else.

“Poor Standards & Organisation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

Arrived at the hotel to find no parking avaliable as all spaces in rear car park were full. We were allocated a poorly decorated room which had blood on the bathroom floor. We requested this be cleaned and although reception apologised, it took two attempts for staff to clean it to an acceptable level making us late for our evening out.

Our friends who were also staying at the hotel had the owner walk unannounced into their room in the late afternoon, checking to see if it was occupied which was unprofessional and completely unacceptable. The window in our room would not close making it difficult to sleep as we felt unsafe.

Breakfast the following morning was painful with inadequate numbers of staff unable to cope with the demand. Organisation was poor and we waited an hour for our food to arrive with 3 tables jumping the queue before us, including a party of six. We received our tea and coffee but had no spoons to stir our drinks with and had to refill the one milk jug between six of us ourselves from the cereal bar, as no one was available to help.

The toast arrived burnt and we had no side plates or cutlery to eat it with making it cold by the time we got them!! The food itself was ok but definately not worth the hour wait!! We ordered more toast to eat with our cooked breakfast and they bought out a plate full of toasted crusts which I have never experienced from a hotel before.

Overrall it was a poor experience and one I shall not be repeating...I will avoid this hotel in future and do not recommend it.
