“Great hotel, excellent food”

Stayed here overnight for a business trip and was very impressed. My room was very comfortable with modern fittings, nice big bathroom with bath. The meal we had in the Cafe Cru was stunning. Fresh fish cooked perfectly at an affordable price. After a long drive we were half expecting the restaurant to be closed by 9pm as with many hotels, but they are open til 10pm. Breakfast was just as good. With food freshly cooked to order, the standard far surpassed some of the more expensive hotels I've stayed at. Hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The Imperial exceeded all my expectations for a seaside hotel out of season. Highly recommended

I recently attended a wedding at this hotel and all i can say is the only complaint I had was that fosters was not on the taps!!! so what does that say!! We had a sit down meal and i cannot fault it 1 bit the ceremony was great and the evening was too. Would recommend this hotel for a wedding. we stayed in the villa maria suite and had a sea view the beds were so comfy was like being at home.

“Better Standards Than Many A 5 Star!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

We booked this hotel as we were attending Latitude Festival for the weekend and wanted a backup plan if the weather or venue was too grim. The weather turned out to be very grim so we spent Friday & Sunday night at the hotel and went glamping in Suffolk on the Saturday. I often see people start reviews by reinforcing their credentials with remarks such as 'We have stayed at luxury hotels all over the world' etc etc however I will say that we are 5 star luxury snobs. The main cause of this snobbery is the simple premise that you generally receive a higher standard of cleanliness, food & service at a top end hotel.
There are no 5 stars in Norfolk or Suffolk (I checked) so the best that I could find was The Imperial with many good reviews on this site. We both took to this place as you cannot fault its cleanliness & cosy persona. Ok The Savoy it is not but the restaurant downstairs was sublime & it is clear that this family run hotel does actually care about you. Our room was immaculate as was the service and the food. In addition it is dog, child & family friendly. Unfortunately we did not have time to explore the town but If you need or want to stay in this area you will not find a better hotel than this. PS: You can tell that that they are proud to be the only 4 star in the town & I can understand why. I have stayed at many a so called 5 star that would be put to shame by The imperial. To top it off our bill was about £150 per night including top notch breakfast so happy days (and nights) !!

Room Tip: Request sea facing but they do not let kids in their best rooms I notice :(

This is a charming hotel located on Yarmouth's esplanade. Staff are charming and check-in is efficient. The wireless internet works well.
The mattresses are too soft.
The highlight of my stay was a truly outstanding fried breakfast.
