Worst Travelodge I've ever stopped in! The reception is unattended and they have notice which tells you to 'hang around' someone checks the desk every 15 minutes, the rooms are very worn and old, basically not very inviting at all.
To top our stay off at 8am the next morning it sounded firstly like there was a group of people in the corridor chatting about their time in Halifax, then the hoovers started and then the people were trying to shout over the hoovers! It was only upon opening the door we realised it was the cleaners and not other guests!

It's a shame as it doesn't befit the building it's housed in, Will never stop here again.

Two of us stayed for two nights Dec 29/30 2011 and paid £20 in total.
We had a clean, comfortable family room in the centre of Halifax in an attractively converted mill( perhaps I'm biased as I was brought up in Yorkshire and like mills!) Cheaper than staying at home and a really good way to visit family over Christmas. Make sure you book when they have a sale on.

Dean Clough is an impressive building formely a massive mill it has been impresively converted into a business park with restaurants, art galleries and small business. From the outside the hotel looks impressive. Inside the rooms are basic but you would expect this from Travellodge.

My main beef is with the website. When I booked I wanted one family room but the web site kept stalling so when I finally completed my booking I had recieved and been charged for 2 rooms. I emailed to explain the mistake and tried telephoning but got no response. When I phoned I was told Travelodge do not have customer service and the phone line is for bookings only I needed to email (which I had already done). I never recieved a response, next time I'll stay somewhere else.

We paid £51 for 2 nights for 2 adults and our 6-year-old son (sofa bed). For the price this was good value for money. Our only complaint was that the first room (510) although being very large was cold, drab and didn't appear very secure but after changing to a smaller more cosy room (303) we were quite happy. The receptionist was helpful and tea/coffee was provided.

Parking is £4.50 per day between 9am and 6pm but we managed to avoid this as we were out all day. Someone mentioned that you only get a warning sticker in any case but I can't confirm this.
