We found this B/B to be warm and accomadating the lady who runs it is very nice and makes you feel welcome. Although we had a shared bathroom it was right next to our room so not inconveinient . The meals where plentiful and we found great value at 70 pound a night for three course dinner, room and breakfast. We would recomend this B/B Greatly Colin and Gladys from Perth WA

“Laid back, friendly stay”

It was a spur of the moment thing & deciding where to stay quite late at night was a very rushed desicion, but the owner accomodated us without a problem and welcomed us in. She showed us to our room, which was clean & organised and provided dinner.
We had a good night sleep and breakfast the next morning consisted of a full english breakfast with a good selection of cereals, teas and coffees.
Overall our experience pretty good.

“Not what it said on the tin”

Just want to put record straight after reading the only other review of this B&B. From reading the other review, it seems that this has changed hands since 2007. A few of us went up for a few nights. The lady running the B&B was friendly but there was a lot to do for one person. The cooked breakfast was cold. One bath\shower room was shared between at least 4 rooms with at least 10 guests. The dirty tea cups from room were not replaced during the day ready for next night. Building work in back meant we were lucky to get one car parking space. Friends moved into unfinished rooms in new building at back but due to using extra room, we were all charged £30 pppn instead of £25pppn. Window in front room not sealed correctly so street noise heard in early morning. Overall not what was expected from reading website and review.

We are sorry that our guest was not happy staying with us and we sincerely apologize any discomfort caused,we are taking it seriously and will try our best to improve.

We also feel it necessary to mention that we always take breakfast order from each guest after they sit at the table in the morning and freshly perpared with the products from local shops.

We also feel it very rewarding to have many repeated guests from both home and abroad including some company businessmen.

However,we are not trying to make any excuse towards the reviews and we will certainly make sure to meet our guests satisfactions.

“Just like staying with family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2007

We travelled up to a friends wedding in nearby Cleish. This b and b was one suggested to us by the wedding couple!

A lovely straight drive from Edinburgh airport, over the Forth Road Bridge and really easy to find.

We were welcomed into the b&b much earlier than their usual time, and shown to our room which had been cleaned first. We were a little concerned at the lack of en-suite, but this posed no problem during our stay.

The owners, Sandy and Steve, were lovely, helpful and great to stay with, like i said, it felt like we had known them forever and were part of their family. Honestly felt like this, no lie!

The food (breakfast) was absolutely amazing, with local produce and also a lot of home grown produce.

Honestly, the cleanest, most friendly place we have ever stayed!

We will definatly return!
