My friends and I stayed here in January and were pleasantly surprised with the exeptional service provided. Yes the rooms are a little tired, but none the less have a certain charm and are of a good size and were very clean. Everything was provided for you. We had a meal in the restaurant and were bowled over by the high standard of the menu and the meal itself..... ...far beyond our expectations. We were very impressed. All the staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you. We will certainly be going back.
Highly recommend a short walk down to Loch Leven with its stunning views.........the hotel also has a coffee shop/eatery at lochside.

On arrivalthe hotel looked a little tired but okay.Staff very pleasant and helpful.On entering our room,no wows ,a good size but a musty smell from the bathroom. Looking at the ceiling a leak had occurred at some stage hence the smell.The mattress was of poor quality hence you sank into the base.The shower was very poor as it had hardly any pressure so had to rinse my hair in the wash basin.Dinner was good with enough choice,well cooked and friendly efficient staff.Health club located over the road ,at sister hotel,we used for treatments were excellent.Overall ok but wouldnt return.

We stayed here in January as a xmas present to ourselves on a DBB deal with a bottle of wine. In terms of what we got for the deal we could not have been happier, had we been paying full price it might have been a different story. The rooms are a great size and very clean but in need of renovation as is most of the hotel. We had our 1 yr old son with us and all the staff could not have been nicer and made the effort to chat to him and even supplied him with some toy cars for entertainment wen having our lunch on the first day. We ate in 4 of the restaurants over the 2 hotels and the food in all of them was nothing short of fantastic allthough the childrens portions were no different to the adult portions. As a few other posts have mentioned the whole resort idea that the hotel advertises is a little far fetched but if your quite happy to cross a road to get to the other hotel and leisure facilities its not the end of the world. All in all I would definately recommend this hotel if you can get it on a cheap deal similar to the one we got but for full price there are probably other hotels that offer better value for money.

I felt very cold throughout this hotel and there was a very damp smell everywhere.
The room was large and clean, just very cold!
Being a vegetarian there was very little on the menus to suit me so we ate in the restaurant at the Windlestrae, which was excellent, and warm!
Breakfast was just ok, once again very little hot food for vegetarians.
