“Very Friendly and Helpful Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I stayed here for a weekend meeting. It's a wee bit dated and old fashioned but I'm told that it's about to be overhauled. The restaurant food is ok but not the best I've had but the service is friendly and the staff go out of their way to oblige. The bar was welcoming and bar food had a good choice and was served promptly and was good quality.Bedrooms are large and the furniture is fine. The overbath shower was fantastic, lots of high pressure hot water. The bath had a built in jacuzzi but I didn't try it out. The swimming pool was excellent and the staff very helpful. I was there in a wet and snowy weekend, so can't pass comment on the outdoor facilities. Overall I'd recommend the hotel

Room Tip: three of us had rooms in 3 different areas ... all three were fine

“This charming hotel grew on me...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

When I first arrived at this hotel I immediately thought it needed updating. The decor is a bit shabby but my room was very clean. I was slightly disappointed that there was no tea or coffee making facilities, but the the bar has a nice atmosphere and a pool table.
I ate in the restaurant, but I was the only person eating there. The food wasn't bad.
I went down for breakfast where there was a good selection of cereal and various other options. I can't comment on the cooked breakfast because I didn't try it, but there was plenty to choose from. I tried the gym that night - it was really good. I ate in the restaurant again that night and I can recommend the meat feast pizza. I have to say my first impresions that this hotel was run down faded and I saw it for what it was ... I nice hotel with great staff and loads of charm. Give it a try.

“Great location, great staff, dated rooms”

Stayed here with my sister aunt and my mum( who was in a wheelchair) the only downside to this hotel was the fact that it was difficult to get the chair up the stairs inside the hotel to get to. The restaurant. The staff however more than made up for that, they were lovely...all of them. the beauty room was fantastic and we all and a massage and a pedicure...wonderful. Get the steps sorted and it will be even better.

“Exceeded 3 star expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My friend and I have just had a fabulous stay in this hotel. Staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. Some of the staff that we dealt with were: Jane and Heather from reception, Scott from the bar, Brenda and Emma in the Beauty rooms, Emma and others from the restaurant (sorry some names have escaped me!) staff in the leisure centre, in fact without exception EVERY member of staff we dealt with were exceptional. The hotel is lovely and spacious, VERY clean, excellent food both at breakfast time and in the restaurant in the evening - delicious and well priced. Someone said on a previous review rooms a bit dated, this was not an issue because more importantly they are CLEAN. Rooms are also in process of being refurbished, so will obviously take time. We could not fault ANYTHING. The pool/gym jacuzzi etc were also great, lovely warm pool and very good size! I have been in 4 star hotels where the pools are size of a postage stamp! this leisure centre puts them to shame. PERFECT WEEKEND, will definitely be back. As previously stated Kinross itself doesn't have much, but very central for other towns and cities e.g. Dunfermline/Perth/Sterling/Edinburgh, so yes car recommended if you want to have a trail. For relaxation (and golfers) perfect location! We also met some lovely locals, really nice friendly town. Thank you to you all!!

Room Tip: I got the impression from others that all rooms are a good size. We had room 316, twin room, great.

“Lovely Hotel but a bit tired”

My husband and I spent a night there first time we have been to Kinross for a weekend. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the room we were given (Room 305) was very spacious with a huge bed and had good storage and toiletries in the bathroom. A bit dated though but spotless. Also we tried the wifi in the room and the signal was always either fair or poor and it keep disconnecting on us which was not ideal.
There is nothing to do in town at all. The only pubs we found were the bars in the hotels. We ate dinner in the hotel (montys italian) and this was very nice and reasonably priced too. Booking is recommended. Breakfast on Sunday is served between 8 and 10am. Good choice of food and tasty. Buffet style with toast (white or brown), cereals, fruit, pastries and cheeses, porridge and kippers (to order) and the usual cooked stuff.
Check out at 11, We asked if the Sunday Market was on and were told it was but on getting there it was not. I checked the internet on my phone (which I should have done first but didn't think) and found out that it closed in September last year. A bit disappointing.
My husband used the gym and said it was well equipped and the pool looked lovely but we were too stuffed after breakfast to use it! We would come back to the hotel again but Kinross has nothing at all to do in it.
