Had room 3 which was spacious with comfy big bed but shower room was tired and dated but shower hot with ok pressure.

The options in Kirkwall for decent accomm are limited but this is a decent choice.

We only stayed one night in Kirkwall but I wish it had been longer. Our hotel room was very spacious. We had a separate living room which was great. The food was very good and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel while on Orkney. It was in an excellent location very close to shops, restaurants and St Magnus Cathedral.

The West End Hotel is a great place to stay in Kirkwall, I have travelled to Orkney many times on business and this is definitley the place to book if you are travelling there.
The rooms are great with everything you could need, the staff are friendly and you are well looked after, the food and the bar are excellent.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Orkney!!

What a wonderful place. That says it all. We stayed there during the Orkney portion of our distillery tour. There are 2 distilleries on Orkney, Highland Park, which is open and Scapa that is barred like a fortress. The staff did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The owners are on sight daily and work hard to make the hotel and assorted bar and dining room friendly. My only regret was that I did not stay longer.
