We recently stayed at the Ravenshill House Hotel with our family and were incredibly disappointed. Unfortunately we did not receive any of the hospitality mentioned in other reviews - quite the opposite - We have never felt so unwelcome at a hotel. The service at breakfast was non-existent , everything seemed to be a chore for the owner who barely even acknowledged us when we were speaking to her. We have stayed at a lot of B&B's and hotels in our time and this was by far the worst service we have ever received. One to steer clear of when there are so many other well run places to stay in the area

Norman and Sheila run this excellent hotel. The food is great for all tastes, especially for vegetarians. If Norman knows you are vegetarian he will even cook you a special dish. Highly recommended.

Ravenshill House Hotel is and ideal and central location for both north- and southbound travellers and for golfers and tourists visiting Dumfries and Galloway. Sheila and Norman run a great little hotel set in a lovely garden on the outskirts of Lockerbie.
Hospitality and service is great and don't miss Norman's cooking - great stuff and plenty of it.
We were 8 Danish golfers having fun on and off the Dumfries golfcourses and our stay at Ravenshill just added that little bit extra, that made this golfing trip something special to everyone. We'll definitely be back.
