We were the grooms parents at the above wedding on the 4th Sept 2010 at the Carlton, along with our travelling family and friends we booked rooms for 2 nights. We were concerned with this venue having read previous reports on this site, however how different the experience was to be...BRILLIANT !!, a view shared by our staying guests. I must admit overall the Hotel appeared a little 'tired', perhaps victim to previous owners. The new owner introduced himself to us as Michael, who gave assurance of future plans, we witnessed some..New chef and kitchen team who served lovely 'hot' food to the 50 guests who ate all the same courses at the same time ( very unusual ), breakfast was also good. Carl and Daz were so friendly / helpful with bar and general duties and offered ideas.Little Katie who waited on us all through the weekend was always bright and jolly nothing was too much trouble ( outstanding ) The young girl ( name unknown ) who had 3 children, that worked behind the bar was fantastic. Michael, your own approach to your guests were exemplary, offering kind support through out, your future must be bright 10/10 customer service. People BOOK IT FOR YOUR WEDDINGS good facilities and staff, we'll be back...

You can plan some things in life ,and hope for others,but booking the Carlton Manor proved to be an excellent choice for my daughter Tara's Wedding.
From arrival to departure the staff were helpful,friendly and genuine! I Must in particular single out Kay whose attitude and natural organisational skills,made the whole day run smoothly.
The new chef recieved numerous compliments from friends and family at the wedding,as the food was delicious and well presented,and served quickly by the well mannered waitresses.At night we had a barbeque and again it was spot on!!10/10
The bar staff at the evening function kept waiting to a minimum and were very pleasant and friendly,unlike some bar staff nowadays.
Later we returned to our superior room,need i say more?

We booked Carlton Manor for our wedding reception venue on the 17th July and despite several changes of staff both the new team and the interregnum management were fantastic.

They clarified everything with us, made sure all questions were sorted before our big day so that we didn't have to worry about a thing and really made our day special.

The food was fantastic, both the evening buffet and lunchtime meal was great.

I hope people will ignore the previous bad reviews and take on board the changes that have took place at Carlton Manor.

Poorley cooked food, inexperienced waitress who knew nothing about what was on the menu, ineffectual Manager,very rude recptionist.
