“Weekend Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We had a 3 night break here in early Feb. Had the Britannia Room on the first floor. Lovely room with large bathroom. Bath and separate shower. Lovely big lounge which we had to ourselves. Cooked breakfast was 1st class with good choice of cereals and juice. Short walk to town with many good pubs and restaurants. Located just across from train station so took train to Southampton. Quiet location with parking. I can't recomend this place enough it is an excellent B&B and well worth a visit.

“A very enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed at Britannia House in January, at a special winter weekend rate; this made it excellent value. Britannia House offers quirky and comfortable accommodation, well located for Lymington town centre. The owner, Tobi, plays 'mine host' to perfection (and cooks a superb breakfast) and is clearly passionate about his business. We are fussy guests, but couldn't find any real fault here; we'll be back!

“Little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Stayed here with my husband who has stayed many times. This place is a little hidden treasure within walking distance of the town centre but tucked away in a nice quiet spot. Our room was prettily decorated with everything we could need and very clean. There is a pleasant little courtyard to enjoy a glass of wine or coffee if it is warm enough.
Tobi, the host is very congenial and the breakfast is all freshly cooked to order in the lovely pleasant sunny kitchen.
Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.

“nice enough but not 5*”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Very conveniently situated but our room was rather dark & cluttered with ornaments, some of which were quite dusty. The en-suite shower room was tiny, with the smallest wash handbasin I've ever seen. Tobi repeatedly mentioned his 5* rating. He does not live on the premises but helpfully gives customers a mobile number to contact if needed. The breakfast was freshly cooked (as one would expect) but nothing out of the ordinary, and not much choice. Tobi said it would be very helpful to him if we could arrive at a specific time, ie 8.15 (!) to suit his schedule, tho when pressed he agreed we could breakfast a bit later if we wished, but emphasised 8.15 would be more convenient for him on that day. When we arrived at 8.20, he commented on the fact we were five minutes late! "I am busy busy". Tobi is a nice man, helpful & informative, but somewhat rigid. He gave the impression he expected guests to fit in with him. Wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: the courtyard suite is at the back & therefore quiet, looks out onto a pleasant courtyard, but i...

Thank you for submitting your review. I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with your stay. However, as your stay was 5 (!) months ago, unfortunately I am not in any position to recollect the circumstances. With regard to breakfast times, we are as flexible as we are. Wishing you all the best, I remain your host @ Britannia House. Tobi
