We stayed at Passford House hotel for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. One of the best Hotels in the New Forest in my opinion. Our room looked out onto the backgarden through these little cottage windows and we had a stunning 4 poster! The gardens were really nice, especially the little courtyard area. There seemed to be a resident cat which I found endearing as I love animals... The food was great and facilities excellent. I would definitely stay here again! We didnt have a car at the time, whcih was a little tricky as the hotel isnt really close to any transport links and you do have to do a bit of walking before you actually get into the heathland/forest. Thats my only very slight negative and now we have a car Im sure we will stay again.

On arriving the entrance was lovely, cosy and welcoming . The staff were very polite and helpful and the food was perfect at dinner.... However when shown to our room the hall was freezing and so was the room!reception said theyll put the heating on! The room was drab covered in old carpet even in the ensuite! And up the side of the bath!! The toilet seat was an old wooden one wich was all chipped and stained. However the general cleanliness of the bath toilet and sink seemed good. The duvet cover in the room was ripped and the table lamp shade was broken!not to mention the decade old hair dryers supplied in the room and throughout the hotel!
I love old country style etc etc bus this was awfull.
Next the so called multi gym! This was ridiculous, it was the size of our standard room, with ancient equipment, a stained ripped carpet floor and some lovely old stained bench seats! Oh and a pool table we had to pay to use :/. The indoor swimming Poole was not bad but pretty standard. And the changing rooms / toilets were again carpeted / old tiles and equipped with the lovely hair dryers.
When we eventually got served at dinner it was lovely. The waiters/ waitresses were lovely and very polite. The food was great and very tastefully presentation. And this was the same for breakfast.
Overall I feel that the hotel should only be a 2* but the food and service a 4*. The general up keep and servicing of this hotel is awfull, they have the potential to make this an excellent hotel as its in such a gorgeous location!!!
Will not be returning untill some changes have been made

Lots of hotel choice in this area, we booked on the basis of the very helpful person who took the original enquiry. Family room was great and exactly as described with the added bonus that our daughters bed was a proper one and the dog appeared happy with the carpet. We used the pool that toasty hot, there was also table tennis and pool table available.
We only ate breakfast, good buffet selection, and had a late night drink in a oak panelled room whilst warming in front of the fire.
Dog was more than happy with the extensive and very attractive gardens. All staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, would not hesitate to stay again and thoroughly recommend.

Last minute booking, good location for New Forest exploration. Friendly welcome and reception staff, well decorated for Christmas. Room small, TV tiny ! Bathroom looked new, unfortunately the bath water was rusty in colour !! The bedroom itself was a bit worn, chipped paint, dirty carpet etc. curtain tie backs bracket fellout of wall ! Breakfast OK although a bit 'canteen' like.
