Having spent the last year working with special needs clients with varying conditions and needs, I visit The St Annes Hotel with them on many occasions not just for a 4 day break. Over all, the hotel offers excellent value for money and although (what some people have described as hospital beds) are present in all the rooms, these with the ceiling tracks allow us to hoist clients with severe disability, these are needed for the health and safety of the handlers as regular beds would not benefit client or carer.
Carpets in the lovely relaxing sea view lounge were renewed and are being well used by the many dancers and people who have enjoyed the variety of singers that are performing nightly. All acts are different in their approach to entertaining the guests, which is great - some are a bit more laid back and chatty and others try and get the holiday makers involved with fun percussion instruments that all my guests have enjoyed. For those who do not find the idea of having fun as appealing, and would rather be typing into a computer all night while their client is on holiday, then they can opt out if they so choose - maybe a caravan on their own may be more fitting for managers who have to validate their existence in their high paid role by complaining about every speck out of place, so everyone else can let their hair down and have a good time! I say focus on making your client happy. It's like grumbling at Xmas time about Santa's shabby outfit - focus on the presents and the kids’ faces for goodness sakes!!!
The staff have been lovely and everything that may have needed tending to, was dealt with. The price a previous reviewer mentioned, is grossly over exaggerated as I see the price lists on the walls when I visit with clients and it seems pretty fair and reasonable to me.
This is an honest review from someone who has a glass half full attitude, there will always be humbug sucking pedants out there who bring down the party and have few presents to buy on their Xmas list. You get back what you put into life and I enjoy my regular visits to The St Annes Hotel. :D
