“Remarkable service, great food, comfortable beds and beautiful views!”

This was our second stay at the Glendower Hotel. We had a wonderful experience last year so when we saw the winter special advertised in the Daily Mail, we thought we would take advantage.

We had a prestige room this time.. Room 106. Huge bed and a fantastic bay window, giving you a 180 degrees view of the beach and promenade. The added extras of complimentary water and dressing gowns and slippers were a lovely touch also.

Every night in the restaurant was a lovely experience. Every member of staff are so friendly and attentive. I must mention the restaurant manager Wes, very professional and charming young man. By the end of our stay he had our favorite bottle of wine chilled at our table waiting for us before we even sat down. The food quality was fantastic every single night.. I do have one criticism though. The vegetables were served in a very hot side dish with the main courses. I didn't really see the point of this nor see how it improved the customer experience. If anything it was quite irritating having to serve up your own veg before eating. However I can not fault the quality. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection.

We will be returning again!!

Good Morning , Well you've certainly made Wes's day with your fantastic feedback on your stay here with us at the hotel and ours too, the views from our sea view bedrooms are spectactular and im pleased that you had some fine weather. For future reference dressing gowns & slippers are available to hire for all guests should they prefer to travel lighter in future !
We have discussed many times the pros and cons of the vegetable service and it truly is a matter of taste , please do not hesitate on your next visit to mention to the team your prefences regarding this and we will ensure to serve it the way you like it !!
Many thanks again for the comments

We spent New Years Eve at this hotel and it was wonderful. The room was very clean & comfortable. Although the staff was very busy with a full hotel, nothing was too much trouble. The food on both nights was lovely. Would stay again

“afternoon tea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Went for afternoon tea last saturday with my sister and found it to be value for money at £8.95 per head. The sandwiches were freshly made and the chocolate brownies were delicious, but we were very disappointed with the scones which were hard and dry, obviously made the day before. Even though I had booked late morning I feel freshly made scones are a MUST as most people know scones do not keep longer than a day. Had I been paying I would have commented to the young man who was serving but as it was a treat I felt unable to. I do have to say though that the staff were very pleasant and friendly and the atmosphere
relaxing.

Good Morning
Firstly thank you for taking the time to write a review about your experience here at the hotel it's obviously a double edged sword to hear that you enjoyed your afternoon tea but it was spoilt for you regarding the scones I am investigating how this could have slipped through the net as we have never received complaints previously I do hope that you will appreciate that this is not an indicator of the quality of our produce as this is truly not the case and that you will visit us again so that we may have the chance to prove this to you .
Once again many thanks

“Lovely!”

We had a problem finding the hotel as it is actually in St Anne''s, not Lytham as we had thought, but the moment we checked in we knew the search had been worth it!
We had a seaview room which was comfortable, clean and spacious, and furnished to a high standard. Although there was no lift servicing that part of the hotel and we had to climb 2 flights of stairs to reach it, the room and the view more than made up for our lack of breath
It transpired that it was a special Lancashire weekend in the restaurant, although we didn't know that when we booked The food was exceptional, particularly on the Saturday night when we had a 5 course menu, and the service was quick, efficient and courteous.
All the staff in the hotel were welcoming, friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful weekend. We look forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view...the sunsets are amazing...and the corner rooms are larger.
