I have used this hotel for a number of years and despite (as other reviewers have commented) tired bathrooms have always found it comfortable, the owners pleasant and helpful and the cooked to order breakfast second to none. In addition they have that scarcest of assets in Oakham a secure car park. They have now embarked on a refurbishment programme and rooms are well furnished, beautiful bathrooms with power showers and free wifi in all rooms. I've stayed in other Oakham hotels and to be candid the Old Wisteria is less expensive, cleaner and the staff more courteous than any of them. Whipper Inn is a rip off, Admiral Hornblower is hit and miss with no parking.
