So it was Xmas day and the staff was very short handed but Comedy of errors that we were greeted with didn't impress. However on the plus side, when I complained about the room, I was immediately given a new equally luxurious suite and offered a drink on the house. Our room was exceptional with a good view. The scale of this country house and it's amazing grounds was truly impressive - to the manor born- oh yeah you betcha. The place was very festive and had crackling fires going in all social spaces. The food was very very good, especially the Xmas night dinner which was light and full of choice, very fresh and well presented. The wine at dinner was far FAR better than the 'cocktails' in the bar, which were terrible. Breakfast on Boxing Day was also very good. The quality and attentiveness of the service was notably improved the next (Boxing) day which meant the stay ended on a positive. So had it been any other day, I could probably let the hiccups slide, but it wasn't like we were there on a discount, on the contrary the Xmas night in a suite was supposed to be a treat and it initially felt pretty disappointing. But we decided to reset our expectations so it wasn't a total downer.
Would I go back, sadly no, not unless it was a LOT less expensive or they can up their game and grow into their vast potential.

Many thanks for your review. I am sorry if not every element of your stay was as you should have expected it to be on such an important day, or indeed any day. Buxted Park Hotel is always very popular, especially at Christmas and this year was no different but this should never impact on guests in a negative way. I was unaware of any issues on the day and I apologise that I did not speak with your personally.
