“Come back in summer”

The hotel stems from the glorious old days, but since has moved down into the more standard days - carpets and furnishings are simple and 80ish.
I stayed in a room (3028) with 2 outside walls on a cold night, and the bathroom was below 10C despite the radiator on full blast.
The friendly staff did bring a radiator to help out.
The bar is lively, and food was good.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the review. I was most concerned to read your comments as the issues raised are certainly not in keeping with the standards, quality and customer care normally associated with Oatlands Park Hotel. Please accept my sincere apologies for the shortfalls experienced on this occasion. The hotel is constantly upgrading its facilities, and rest assure our bedrooms are on a rolling refurbishment programme, which will shortly be completed.

“Far too hot!”

We stayed at the hotel as a couple on New Year's Eve - we live in the City and thought a country retreat would go down a storm...and that it did. Bearing in mind that our stay was in the middle of winter, the room was literally roasting, amid an air con unit that didn't work and an admittedly hot wing* of the hotel. *a member of staff said that the hotel was struggling to find the right temperature for the hotel in our wing as it was too cold for European guests and too warm for British ones. I've never heard such nonsense in my life.

Having called for help, staff brought us a jug of cool water and suggested that we sleep with the windows open (in the middle of winter).

Breakfast was included in our package, of which the fruit option was clearly served from tins in syrup.

Despite this, the hotel itself was okay and the facilities inside the room were up to speed - looked nice from the outside but wasn't quite what we imagined to be truthful.

“Very good Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last twelve months, both occasions were Company dinners, Check in was fast and smooth, rooms were very clean and well equiped and warm as visits were in December.
Food was excellent and hot, although breakfast was a little lacking not as good as the Hilton,
the layout was confusing with jams etc no where near the bread etc, and some of the buffet was cold.

Staff were friendly and helpful and very eefficient,

The Hotel has a lovely location and a old world charm.

On this occasion my room was on the second floor with no lift that I could find had I been staying for more than one night I would have asked for a different room as I found the stairs difficult.
So if booking this hotel ask about access to your room if slightly imfirm

On the whole a very plesant experience

Room Tip: Ask about lift access
