“Excellent budget overnight stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

This hotel has well lit car parking at the rear of the property. I stayed for one night only but found the host welcoming and helpful. My double room was a reasonable size, comfortable and clean. There was a good TV on the wall and I appreciated the bottle of water and the tea, coffee and milk provided in my room. The full English breakfast was excellent.
My only minor criticisms, and they are minor, is that I would have preferred a more powerful shower and I found the swipe card door entry a little fiddly.
Overall great value for money.

“Comfortable, welcoming and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

This is a friendly, warm place and the atmosphere is terrific. Keith was particularly helpful when one of our party needed help with a boarding pass and went out of his way to help us and made us feel very welcome. It has a lovely large lounge, beautiful and spacious gardens and the rooms and beds are comfortable and have everything I needed including a bath tub which is quite unusual these days. The breakfast was also large and very good, and the price reasonable.

“Quite quirky.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

A very interesting listed Arts and Crafts building which works well as a budget hotel. Ample car parking space in grounds at rear. Helpful and friendly host. Small welcome touches like provision of bottled water and biscuits in room alongside plenty of tea/coffee/milk. Was able to drive into Birmingham Centre in 30 minutes (Sunday) without using Motorway. Freshly cooked breakfast. A good experience overall, and I would happily stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms at front face a busy main road, the noise did not cause me any problems but light sleepers wou...

“very welcoming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

We only stayed one night, there were 9 of us for my daughters wedding. Keith was very helpful and friendly and did us a cracking breakfast the next morning. It was good value for money, the only fault we found was the stairs, they were bigger than normal and quite steep, also there was no banister to assist climbing the stairs. My mum has little mobilty but even i had trouble with the stairs. Overall a very nice and friendly hotel which i would recommend to people with no physical disabilities.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your review, and I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay. As a period building, the steps may appear a little different to those in our own houses, but we do only have one flight. It is also worth remembering that we have ground floor rooms which can be reserved on request.

“Very comfy, warm welcome and great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly Keith the owner, room was quite small but very comfortable, the full English breakfast was very good indeed.

One tiny negative was a slightly strange smell near to the window, might have been something to do with the curtains (maybe been damp recently from condensation?) but not sure - it was only when standing right in that spot so not a major issue at all.

Very good value at £50 for the night including the full breakfast for two.
