“Fine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have now stayed here for about 5 weeks and for the most part my stay has been very satisfactory:

Reception: Very friendly helpful staff but on at least two occasions I have had to wait over ten minutes to check in.

Restaurant: Very good chef, very tasty food but a bit overpriced. Breakfast is good but vastly overpriced at £13.95. You should negotiate a 50% discount on this if staying any length of time.

Billing: Check your bill as they automatically add on £3.00 for parking even if you don't have a car. Get this removed. Their IT software is WAY out of date and needs replacing.

Internet access: Free in the lobby on an Apple but costs elesewhere. Again overpriced. Negotiate a 50% discount or free if you can.

Rooms: On the whole very comfortable with a good TV if limited number of channels. Some of the fittings are getting a bit old (taps etc) and need more attention to detail. The noisest floor from a traffic point of view is the third so ask not to be on this floor. On the third there is also on a shower where the other two floors have a bath and a shower. Toliet is separate from the bathroom which is a nice touch plus an inner door.

Walking distance to the Railway station, bus station and the centre of town.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay at the Novotel Wolverhampton. I am pleased that you found our Reception team to be helpful but disappointed that on two occassions you were kept waiting for 10 minutes. Thank you for mentioning that the food was tasty and we will also take your suggestion into further consideration regarding the discount. With regards to the billing on the invoice, I am pleased to advise that we are currently changing our computer system and this issue of the automatic charges will be addressed further. The internet is chargeable but we also have a special 24 hour offer in the bedrooms of £9.99 where you may access internet, movies and music. I am happy that you felt the bedrrom to be comfortable and also that you liked the toilet being seperate to the bedroom. We will ceratinly be checking the fittings in the bedroom so thank you for bringing this to our attention. Kind Regards, John Armstrong

“Never Again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

The hotel is not in a bad spot has a clean appearance from the outside, with an impressive reception and bar area. We got to our over priced room and the disappointment began. The room was clean and the first thing I wanted was a cup of tea, which at Novotel means if your in a double room you only need 2 tea bags, 2 sachets of white sugar and 4 pots of UHT milk.
The seperate toilet is a wonderful gesture, but why make it look like something out of a 1960's tower block? Glad we always take our own toilet paper with us because the quality used at this Novotel would leave you itching for days, it looked like bleached loft insulation.
£65 quid a night and they have the cheek to charge you £3 quid to use the car park!!!!!
Breakfast £13.95 per person........they are having a laugh, Moon Under The Water Restraunt around the corner £2.20 for full English £3.97 for an extra large!
First and last time at a Novotel, not impressed felt robbed. :(

“Lovely stay”

Very easy check in with welcoming attentive staff explaining the drill for breakfast, meals, room service etc. Asked if we would like to open a tab or pay as you go, which we chose. Many services offered such as wake up calls, newspapers delivered to your door etc.

The hotel itself is in an excellent location for accessing the city centre ( a few minutes walk away ), the bus and train station are literally on the hotel doorstep.

Rooms are modern and light with internet tv, tea coffee facilities, mini bar, huge power shower and clean comfortable beds. Also an iron and ironing board.

Would highly recommend.

“Good stay in a central location”

Stayed 2 nights on a business trip. Rooms are large and modern. Separate toilet from shower and sink which made me smile but apparently Novotel always do this. The bed was a foam mattress and was very comfortable - also very large. Reception staff were excellent as were those in the breakfast room. Lots of choice at breakfast. My preference is always the full english and wasn't disappointed. There was also plenty of fruit, cereals, pastries etc. Stayed here due to recommendations from Tripadvisor and am glad I chose this one and recommended it to 5 colleagues who were also working away with me- Phew!

Room Tip: It is close to the ring road but I couldn't hear the road at all - however in January I had no w...

“Nice and average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Stayed here whilst on a two day course with work so we were all booked in on a delegate rate to include room, breakfast lunch and evening dinner. I have never stayed in a Novotel before and I wasn't expecting a lot, however I was very pleasently surprised with the dinner menu which contained a nice choice of starters and mains which were very good indeed!

Standard rooms are very clean but quite basic, almost clinical and not very homely, but that's my own personal taste.

The bar area is typical hotel chain and not the sort of place you would want to stay in all night especially as the choice of draught beers and lagers is very limited. The price if a pint of Carling stands at £3.75 whilst Guiness is a whopping £4.20!

I would stay here again on business but not out of choice on a personal basis.
