“SADLY LACKING”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Hotel looks impressive from outside but rooms need upgrading - only one usuable plug socket in room and bathroom although huge was grubby and outdated. Food was very disappointing - we had the private dinning room as a large group and expected to be made a fuss of, sadly it felt more like second class, waters seemed hard pressed to cope!! Food was cold and portions extremely small - have never been left feeling hungry after a meal!! Spa was adequate although seating outside treatment rooms was not very private and people slumped in their dressing gowns in reception just seemed wrong. Our group spent a lot of money on this weekend and we did not feel we were given the service or attention warrented. This is a wonderful building and could be a fantastic place to stay if money and time was invested on improving the decor and staff training.

Room Tip: Sir thomas Moyle room has fabulous views over the gardens but bathroom needs major overhaul - only o...

Delighted that you found the property impressive but sorry that we got things wrong for your event. We continue to strive to improve facilities and we agree that some bathrooms and some wiring needs updating. However we do have an excellent housekeeping team who would be upset to learn that cleanliness in the rooms was an issue.
Our beauty salon is very busy and many guests enjoying treatments are known to seriously relax at the first opportunity. We do have Silks Relaxation Lounge available for Dreams clients but guests in the reception area are usually on the point of being collected by their therapist before proceeding to their allocated treatment room.

“Disappointing weekend spa break”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Spent the weekend here recently for a golf and spa break.
Upgraded room from standard to a suite with 4 poster bed. Room was lovely with plenty of space and lovely view of grounds.
At dinner whilst food was very good we had a MOUSE in the restaurant! Staff seemed non-plussed and didn't take this at all seriously. Not what you expect at any restaurant let alone one boasting 4 stars.
Golf is not great, only 9 holes and very little variety in holes.
Spa is again adequate but not great.
In view of cost there are much better options around and so will not be using again. Shame as a lovely setting and beautiful manor house.

We are sorry about the little visitor and thankfully our staff do not normally have to deal with such a problem. The problem has now been dealt with professionally.
We accept that our golf course is only 9 holes but it is 2132 yard USPGA standard and is enjoyed by many visitors and it has also been highly commended for our environmental approach to irrigation and to the planting of a great many trees and wild flowers to encourage wildlife.
Our Pavilion Restaurant has recently been given a new look and an exciting new menu and this will complement our award winning beauty salon 'Dreams' and 3000 sq foot Technogym gymnasium.
We look forward hopefully to your return.

“Great family stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

As a Christmas treat we took our grown up children and partners to a three bedroom mews cottage from 23rd - 24th December 2011. Orange Cottage has good sized double rooms with one downstairs and had been freshly painted so the odour was still a little strong but we opened windows and it was bright and clean although the lounge is tight when six adults are all chilling. Bathrooms fabulous offering a shower cubicle as well as bath - suits both of us.
Had lovely brunch in brassiere, a swim, a couple of treatments and the cream tea via room service, in the evening a fabulous meal in the Manor accompanied by the piano player - atmostphere was lovely and staff helpful and friendly.
We use Eastwell Manor a fair amount - at least four times a year - and in 2011 the standard has definitely improved and remained constant.
A lovely start to Christmas and works for family celebrations - costing just over £1,000 for six adults in total - around £166 per person.

Thank you for your comments. Our 19 Eastwell Mews cottages are many guests favourite choice, some returning several times a year, treating them as their cottage i n the country. They are available on a hotel or self catering basis and now have their own website.

“What a shame....”

Eastwell Manor is a stunning mansion in beautiful gardens set in the idyllic Kent Countryside with far reaching views. Its looks rival Pennyhill Park, the Manoir, and other glorious English Country Houses. Sadly though it's service, cleanliness and staff are a million miles away from these establishments. The staff in the Manor huddle round reception and the arrival of guests is an inconvenience. We were there for a Christmas party and had a really disppointing evening. The food (which used to be terrific) is now poor to say the least. We waited ages between courses, the staff were trying to cover too many rooms and couldn't cope. They were poorly trained and much of the time we felt completely abandoned. The real sadness though is the Pavillion where the leisure facilities are situated. There is a large pool but nowhere to sit and relax unless you are having a spa treatment when you are allowed to use the upstairs lounge. The changing rooms are dirty and the lockers (which need a £) all have missing pins. The shower area was flooded and the spin drier was grimy and smelly. The Spa end of the pool is absolutely disgusting, some of the tiles are black with mould and the whole area smells of drains. The Pavillion staff could not care less and are unhelpful and rude. There is no-one to help in the gym, my husband had to ask other guests to show him how a machine worked. We were really disappointed. As previous visitors we felt the place was in need of a major overhaul. What a pity

Sorry to learn we got it so wrong for your visit. Where appropriate we will encourage our staff not to be content with an obvious lacklustre attention to detail.
Planning limitations prevent us from providing seating around the indoor pool whereas there is a very spacious area around our heated outdoor pool during the summer months.
We are always striving to improve service to our customers and your comments will be used constructively.

“Can not wait to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I have stayed here a few times; everything is great, from quiet location, fantastic rooms, well designed gardens, fantastic food and the best breakfast.
my wife used the pool and spa, she adored it.
The staff understand about service, and it shows. From when you walk in to the overall service in the bar and restaurant, I can not fault it.
