Looking for an overnight stay near my final destination, came across this place on accomodation website. Althought I arrived late in the evening, I was offered the option of a freshly cooked evening meal which was excellent.
The bedroom was nice and comfortable, but the best part was the breakfast. I can honestly say I have not tasted a nicer breakfast in several years, and was by far better than the one in the 5 star establishment I was in the following night.
My only surprise was how quiet the whole place was, but perhaps due to being a midweek visit.
Overall though, a highly reccommended place to stay, a short travel from centre of Banbury

I've stayed here a number of times when in Banbury and always enjoyed it. Tucked away behind the M40 and not the easiest to find without your sat nav! All rooms en-suite, basic but very clean with everything you need available. Outside area with tables under cover overlooking the "rabbit field" Food is just as the owners describe it "good food , simply done" - exactly what it is! Can be busy in the restaurant at times so this is a place that clearly suits a lot of people.... Wi Fi may be a bit erratic at times but it is totally free!

If we had not paid for the night we would have turned round and tried to find somewhere else. The outside looks awful - and there is an air of neglect and abandonment. Inside is clean but the decor is very dated and the colours depressing. The room was similarly depressing with a small window which does not illuminate the room and the motorway makes it very noisy. There is no sitting room and the bar and restaurant lack any sort of atmosphere. Lots of official notices stuck everywhere. Very few people staying there or eating in. On the plus side, the proprietors were polite and friendly and the evening meal was well cooked and presented. The freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning was lovely. Overall though, it spoilt our weekend away as returning to it was so depressing.
