“Adding a dimension to anyones life”

Not just a place to stay.....a home to experience. What could be more enjoyable than spending a couple of evenings with Poppy in her home? A piece of the english countryside, a beautiful family home and a first class hostess. If you want to make a new friend, hear stories of Olympic achievements and enjoy scrumptious food and wine then you've found your little piece of heaven in Uplands. From the first encounter with the tea and cake to the final coffee before a roaring wood fire the whole experience is wonderful. This is not the comfortable anonymity of a major hotel this is the intimate building of a relationship in somebody's home, comfortable, relaxing, engaging and yet privacy was always there if you wished it.
A visit to savour time and again. We will be back. ~Poppy you are a sweetheart.

“Perfect Retreat”

Had a wonderful stay in late December. Welcomed warmly by Poppy with afternoon tea and cake to discuss dinner plans. Given the option to eat alone or with Poppy and Graham which we chose to do. Lovely company over a fabulous dinner and then tea/drinks in the lounge in front over the roaring log fire.
Huge room and bathroom with high quality furnishings, absolute luxury.
Superb locally souced breakfast with the best eggs I have ever tasted from the farm next door.
Fabulous host with a wealth of information regarding the local area.
We would highly reccommend.

“Absolutely wonderful”

This is the most perfect B & B, we were so lucky to find it. The hospitality was wonderful, Lady Poppy Cooksey greeted us warmly as we turned into their drive and invited us to tea and homemade cake. The house is amazing, full of beautiful antique furniture. We stayed in the luxurious Four Poster Room, which had an enormous en suite, both rooms containing everything one could possibly wish for. From our bedroom window we were able to look out on the beautiful gardens and beyond to an idyllic herd of grazing cattle. Poppy and Graham take great pride and pleasure in their garden and growing their own fruit and vegetables. We have to thank Graham for our delicious full English breakfasts. The choice was amazing starting freshly squeezed orange juice, organic yoghurt with honey topped with their home grown strawberries and raspberries followed by any combination of all the usual breakfast fare, plenty of toast which you could spread with Poppy's delicious homemade marmalades and jams, tea and coffee. Two or four course suppers are available on request and on our final night we were treated to a real feast starting with crab in a Gruyère sauce, rack of lamb from Prince Charles's Highgrove estate, vegetables from the garden and dauphinoise potatoes followed by fresh fruit pavlova. It was a wonderful evening as we were also celebrating Graham and Poppy's tenth year as World Veteran Fencing Champions!! We enjoyed the company of our fellow guests who were from Australia. Poppy and Graham were the most kind, generous and considerate hosts who made our stay in the Cotswolds very enjoyable.

Room Tip: All the rooms were very nice but the four poster room was a real treat!

We found this enchanting English home by searching B & B's in the Cotswolds. This was the
perfect place for our journey into the English countryside! It made our tour of London seem
like a fading memory. Lady Poppy Cooksey has the true 'gift of hospitality' in the English
sense and welcomed us warmly into her charming home with afternoon tea & cake. Our
evening meal was gourmet as was our hearty English breakfast. Her organic garden supplied
us with healthy and delicious fruits & vegetables to enjoy. We felt spoiled but so rested. The
other guests staying were also very enjoyable and entertaining. It was an experience that we
will never forget and one that remain foremost in our vacation memories.Nancy & Wm M.

Room Tip: The 4 Poster Room is very large with a beautiful view of the countryside & animals in the adja...
