This is the most perfect B & B, we were so lucky to find it. The hospitality was wonderful, Lady Poppy Cooksey greeted us warmly as we turned into their drive and invited us to tea and homemade cake. The house is amazing, full of beautiful antique furniture. We stayed in the luxurious Four Poster Room, which had an enormous en suite, both rooms containing everything one could possibly wish for. From our bedroom window we were able to look out on the beautiful gardens and beyond to an idyllic herd of grazing cattle. Poppy and Graham take great pride and pleasure in their garden and growing their own fruit and vegetables. We have to thank Graham for our delicious full English breakfasts. The choice was amazing starting freshly squeezed orange juice, organic yoghurt with honey topped with their home grown strawberries and raspberries followed by any combination of all the usual breakfast fare, plenty of toast which you could spread with Poppy's delicious homemade marmalades and jams, tea and coffee. Two or four course suppers are available on request and on our final night we were treated to a real feast starting with crab in a Gruyère sauce, rack of lamb from Prince Charles's Highgrove estate, vegetables from the garden and dauphinoise potatoes followed by fresh fruit pavlova. It was a wonderful evening as we were also celebrating Graham and Poppy's tenth year as World Veteran Fencing Champions!! We enjoyed the company of our fellow guests who were from Australia. Poppy and Graham were the most kind, generous and considerate hosts who made our stay in the Cotswolds very enjoyable.
Room Tip: All the rooms were very nice but the four poster room was a real treat!
