We stayed at Ty Mynydd at the start of our tour of Herefordshire and Powys in July. We arrived quite late and were welcomed by Niki at the door. As another reviewer has said, the drive up to the farm is quite 'entertaining', the roads are mostly single track with passing places - just take your time! If you are approacing from the 'Three Cocks' junction the farm is on the left near the top of the road - look for a large stone and a yellow grit bin - we drove straight past the first time - from the other direction (Hay on Wye) the stone has Ty Mynydd carved on it and is easier to spot. The farm is a working farm and you thread your way through the geese and sheep on the approach to the farmhouse. The house is lovely, with stone floors and a real traditional feel. Our room had seagrass flooring and was really homely. The separate bathroom has a roll top bath and is very clean. Breakfast was great, all organic, home produced fare and cooked by Niki herself. Overall a great experience to stay at Ty Mynydd. You MUST go up to the viewing point on the Capel Y Fyn road and look at the views over the Golden Valley - absolutely stunning, takes your breath away. Ty Mynydd is a credit to Niki and her family.
