I spent a weekend here and it was perfect in every sense, great location, accomodation, service and food. The breakfast service is amazing! We will definately be coming here again, although we are not golfing fanatics (don't play at all!) |The location and building is just so marvellous that it will appeal to all.

We stayed for a family celebration and booked in for 2 nights on winter rate deal. The building itself is fabulous and steeped in history. We used the health suite (pool, spa, sauna and steam room) which was good fun. However, although we had a good view of the 18th hole from our room, we found the room to be too small for the amount of funiture in it, a window fixing was broken and it could have been cleaner (cobweb on curtains, stain on carpet). A positive for the room was a good size bed which was very comfortable. The hospitality tray was poor, no choice of tea/coffee, no biscuits. And no free Wi-Fi! If we had paid 'full' room rate we would not have been impressed. We have stayed in other less costly hotels and had better value. There was a good variety for breakfast, although for the supposed 'quality' of this hotel we were not expecting to find dried reconstituted scrambled egg for breakfast! Overall a disappointing experience and we would not choose to stay here again

I have been to this hotel for 4 years on the trot for conference and this year I decided to stay over.

Room was nice but not worth 95.00 room only !

Minibar not stocked and minimal tea and coffee facilities ( one packet of 2 custard creams and 2 little milk pots !).

The meal in the bar restaurant was awful ! I ordered a pizza ( £11.00 ) with a friiend and it was raw and inedible. The Manager was apologetic and offerered us a free dessert, which we also sent back, as mine had a pubic/ dog hair on the plate and my friends was again raw and mushy ! ( supposed to be bread and butter pudding ).

The Manager said he could only take 30% off our bill even though we had nothing to eat. when he asked if we would like anything else to eat we declined !

Other hotels would not charge you not to eat and i wont stay again.

Breakfast was £14.50 and not much better ! Scrambled eggs resembled liquid and just streaky and fatty bacon with slow service.

Thick dust around the toilet in my room , no water etc.

Stayed one night and was pleasantly surprised by the courtyard room. Large comfortable room and bathroom, buffet style breakfast until 11am and late checkout on a Sunday 12pm. We had booked the room online for £79 but when we settled the bill, e were charged £70 as there was a further offer on and they charged us the reduced price automatically.

They did have our details down incorrectly but when we contacted customer services they changed it straight away. My husband used the gym facilities and said there was lots of equipment available and that it was slightly better than at the Celtic Manor where we had stayed previously.

We would definitely stay here again
