Just back from a weekend at the Royal Marine hotel, what a lovely hotel with some great views the food was fantastic and the staff were excellent. Will certainly go back to this hotel had a great time.
19 of us stayed at the Royal marine for two nights. An interesting listed building very conveniently located for the Hunters Quay ferry. We took advantage of the Dinner, Bed & Breakfast deal for stays of 2 nights or more and thought that it was excellent value. Our rooms were at the back of the hotel and as someone else said the room decor was a little dated but the rooms had modern furniture and were clean and comfortable with everything that you would expect to be provided. The food was particularly good, freshly cooked breakfasts and equally good evening meals with a good choice of dishes on the menu. The staff were helpful and friendly and although there was no lift, staff were on hand to carry luggage.
The hotel web site is good but a little short of detail, however if you click on the "Check Availability" button on the home page there is much more detailed information available.
I stayed for five nights, while working in Dunoon. The first room I was in unfortunately had a little leak from one of the windows, I was quickly and efficiently moved rooms. Both rooms were a bit dated but well cleaned and serviced daily. Food in ghillies bar downstairs was nice, simple and reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly, particularly Helena.. Just don't listen to her singing.
5 of us ladies had a wonderful weekend from 23rd March to 25th March the entertainment both evenings was great, we danced both nights. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the views are stunning.
Had a 2 night easter break at the Royal Marine Hotel and really enjoyed it. We were in the Arran room and had a great view of the river and surrounding scenery. The entertainment on Saturday evening with the Elton John tribute was very good. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast and four course meal in the evening was excellent and so were the staff. Would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone.
