“Devil Lifts.”

The hotel could do with a refit. When you went in the lifts you was not sure if you got out alive. The room was clean but there was a tablet left on the floor. The toilet roll was broken the tv was very small. The food was ok but not 5 star. Our floor was no smoking but people was smoking in there rooms. so the hall way was very smelly. We have been to the hotel before and it was a lot better it needs some T L C.

“The worst hotel I've ever stayed in, avoid at all costs”

There isn't one good thIng to say about this place. Car park looks like war torn Beirut. Staff unfriendly, room dirty and seriously shabby and loud music playing from disco til 1 o'clock. Decided to avoid breakfast as would probably have started the holiday with food poisoning. Should be closed down or even better knocked down

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Stayed at The Broadway Morecambe on coach trip, and it was cheap hol and you get what you pay for really - run down tired rooms (ours overlooked the bay which was better than some), cold filthy shower cubicle, and other peoples body hair on bathroom floor yuk. And as for the free bar - med white wine varied in sweetness from bareable to syrup like, queried why wine was sweet and asked for 'dry wine without lemonade' in but got usual sickly sweet stuff, one lady had 16 brandies and was plain cold sober! Saw staff leaving bar with armful of martini bottles and twigged as to what was prob being served as 'wine'. Entertainment was abysmal, people from our coach organised bingo and entertainment until someone turned up. Old Guy on accordian just about finished me off -if i hear one more version of <crazy> i'll scream but bless him he tried. Food fine and service quick and helpful.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms

“Get what you payed for and some.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Just got back from 4 nights at the grand, if you want 5*service, pay 5* prices, we fold this hotel clean, warm, friendly, with good food, nice breakfast, fun entertainment, comftable beds, the beds were made every day, clean towels, room cleaned, Im sorry, there were at least 400 people there, everyone we spock to was happy with the place, If the place is always as bissy as it was this week, and you have so few bad reviews, shows how good the place is. Will so go again,

“winter trip”

Nothing really wrong with the place ,I am sure in warm weather it would have lovely views of the Harbour front and views accross the channel to France. The building itself is fairly old ,and has only been partly modernised. The food was just edible nothing good. We only stayed 2 nights ,with a trip to Bruges included. I would certainly have been upset had we paid full price for a week. We got a cheap deal,so I suppose you get what you pay for. The furniture in the bar room was shocking, some sofas had rips and dirty stains on them.
The bedroom was a fair size ,again furniture would not have been out of place in a Salvation Army hostel. Little things like the light over the bathroom mirror not working,a piece of cardboard stuck in a drawer to stop it sliding open all the time, and a door lock that was about to give up the ghost etc. Sadly the weather was so bad we were unable to walk aroung Folkestone,so came and left without seeing it.
