“Relish Boutique B and B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

What a gem! This is the ONLY place to stay in Folkestone for those who appreciate excellent customer service, comfort and a hearty breakfast for the days adventures ahead. From start to finish, I felt welcomed and was assisted with my enquiries, taxi requests and questions about services and shopping in the area. My room was a delight - modern ,clean, sweet smelling , comfortable and homely. My breakfast was first rate and Helen, who manged my Relish experience is to be commended. I travel frequently in Europe for work and am based in Australia. I would have no qualms in recommending The Relish to any traveller who wants a grown up pleasurable stop. It is equal to many fine establishments around the world who would charge double for this level of accommodation. Well done all round.

Room Tip: stairs a plenty - so those who may need assistance may need to ask for an appropriate floor to stay...

“A very good (if expensive) B&B in Folkestone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed at Relish for one night earlier this month. Overall, it was a lovely B&B, if a little expensive, with big, well equipped rooms, and a lovely breakfast, and just a couple of minutes walk to the sea.

The website says “Spacious rooms located at the top of the building, with views of Augusta Gardens to the White Cliffs of Dover or of the West End towards Trinity Church.” – it is not clear which room you are booking, and the one we were allocated (Chimney) was clearly the poorer cousin to the other room on the top of the building (Cliff), with no sea views. In retrospect, we would not have paid the extra for the view from our room – which was a rather uninspiring, and narrow, view of the street below.

In addition, we requested a double room – however, Chimney has two single beds (of varying heights!) pushed together to create a double bed.

We requested to leave our bags at the place at around 11am, having been told our rooms would not be ready until 3pm, and received confirmation this would be OK – unfortunately, none of the staff were on duty at this time and, after a 5 minute wait outside, we were shown up to our room, which appeared to have been cleaned and ready to accommodate us, by a (very nice and helpful) young man. I was a little dismayed by the somewhat hostile reception we received from the member of staff who, having arrived shortly after being shown to our rooms, was rather frosty with myself and my girlfriend, and clearly felt that we should not have been shown to our rooms (which did seem odd as the room was clearly ready much earlier than we were advised). While this experience did not mar an otherwise excellent break, it was somewhat less than the warm welcome we would expect at such an otherwise excellent B&B.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

A lovely place to stay. Welcomed with cake and wine. Room was lovely. Breakfast exceptional. So nice we returned two days later and were upgraded to the honeymoon suite. A lovely end to a quick trip to UK. Would stay there anytime.

Room Tip: If available - the honeymoon suite.

“Clean with warm services”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

I stayed at the Relish for one night in the Ochre room. Although I was early to check in, the staff were most welcoming and tried to accomodate me by giving me a room. unfortunately this didn't happen, but i was not bothered - it was their thought and hospitality that counted!
Upon returning, I learnt my luggage was already taken up to the room. Entering and ascending the grand stairwell I took in the architecture of this establishment. Brilliant!
Large room with large windows - allowing the sun to gush in! The bathroom even consisted of a bathtub - added much to the look and feel of the room.
Now to the food...Home baked goodies, wine and drinks were offered in the kitchen on a help yourself basis - lovely to enjoy in the gardens!
The variety at breakfast was overwhelming! so many choices. Good hearty breakfast with homemade (again) jam... :)
enjoyed staying here - thankyou for making my stay in folkestone so memorable.

“Great night's stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

We stayed at the Relish for one night last weekend. Couldn't fault a thing - extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. We were lucky enough to be given a free upgrade too! Lovely room - great bathroom too. Such a comfortable bed too. And an excellent breakfast the next morning - tasty and good quality.
We will be back again I have no doubt. Thanks to the staff -great job.
