Visited with friends for a meal on Saturday. The Woodmann once was and still can be the iconic inn it once was in Huddersfield. However; fine dining is not available! I do not understand why this tag line is still used? Try not so hard and bring back value for money. Charging fine dining prices is one thing but when faced with paper table cloths and napkins it is impossible to justify the prices charged. Whilst the service was ok it again did not match service required for fine dining. The food was at best ok. But again, taking out a steak, ordered medium rare, which is well done, is not good. A true fine dining establishment would have noticed this and either not presented it or at the very least would have offered to re-cook. The true question for this establishment going forward is to exist or not to exist! Would I recommend? Perhaps for a beer or glass of wine but not for the food at present.
