“NEW YEAR 2011”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

My husband and I booked the new year package, which represented excellent value. Our room was adequate, clean and comfortable (apart from the little cobweb in the corner behind the bedside table!!). We enjoyed a superb evening and the buffet was excellent. We were in the Hill Top Restaurant and the young man who was the Manager handled everythng professionally and with an excellent disposition and constant smile. The staff were all helpful and pleasant. The buffet was not rushed and we had a relaxed meal. We were unsure at first being seated with other people, as we had booked as a couple, but we were fortunate to be with people with whom we enjoyed their company. We enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep followed by a lazy breakfast at 10.45 a.m. The same staff waited on us in the morning. The same young man and a lovely lady. Nothing was too much trouble and they controlled the dining room very well. Having had a busy night, they both had smiles on their faces, once again, the following morning. Well done to each and everyone at the Pennine Manor. Here's to New Year 2012.

Thank you for taking the time to review Pennine Manor and I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed the New Years Eve package and also found this to be good value for money. I am also pleased to hear that being seated with people you'd not met before was a success and that the service you received was helpful and pleasant. The team works hard at Pennine Manor to achieve high levels of service and it is wonderful to hear that we achieved this.

I have passed your kind comments to Bev and her team and would love to welcome you again for next New Year, if not sooner.

“Weekend Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

The menu choice for all meals was good but the buffet breakfast at the weekend was served on cold plates? Also, my partner had to send her evening meal back as it was only lukewarm and again served on a cold plate. Hotel management please invest in a plate warmer for goodness sake!
Rooms are on the small side but adequate unless you want a king size bed. Decor in the room is mainly mahogany wood which gives it a bit of dark and drab feel and the carpet was badly in need of a clean as were some other room carpets seen during our stay.
Overall, enjoyed our stay and the hotel is in a nice location on moorland countryside but not too far to travel if you want to visit surrounding areas or join the M62.

Thank you for taking the time to review Pennine Manor and I am pleased to hear that overall, you enjoyed your stay. I have noted your comments regarding the cold plates at breakfast and lukewarm plates on your evening meals and have passed this to the kitchen team for further investigation. I am sorry to hear that the carpet was in need of a clean and have passed this to the General Manager to investigate. All feedback is much appreciated and I am grateful that you have brought these matters to my attention.

“Got what we paid for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

We have just been and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a romantic break. We got the deal through The Sun so paid nowhere near the regular room rate. The room was adequate, we were a little disappointed that we only had views of the car park and we would question whether the bed was a double as it was a tight squeeze. However, it was clean, the staff were generally friendly and it was quiet. The TV was quite small and set low down so it was difficult to watch whilst in bed. If we had paid full price, we might not have been satisfied but as it is, we got what we paid for.

Room Tip: Want to ask for a higher room or one at the back of the hotel so you have a better view.

Thank you for taking the time to review Pennine Manor and I am pleased to hear that you found your stay to be good value for money. I can advise that the bed is indeed a double and I am sorry to hear that you found it a squeeze and that your room didn't have the spectacular views that Pennine Manor is known for.

I'm delighted to hear that you found our colleagues to be friendly and have passed this on to Carrie and her team. I do hope to welcome you again soon.

“Good value, needs practice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011 via mobile

The room was good quality for the price, and the food to a perfectly acceptable standard. A lovely location on the moors. Not a destination hotel, but much better than a cheap chain. Restaurant staff seemed a little bemused about what to do, but not disastrous.

“Gorgeous!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed there at the weekend. Excellent staff, excellent food, excellent room! Really lovely and staff very friendly and welcoming. Very secluded and scenic but found it easy to find off the m62. Evening meal with gorgeous views and ate breakfast to amazing views and horses running free in a field ver close. Really recommend it!!!!
