“Comfortable Hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

Stayed two nights with a group of i4. Sizeable room on third floor at back of hotel. Nice and quiet apart from church bells next door. Would stay at this hotel again! Indian restaurant just up the hill from the hotel on the corner, well worth a visit. Good food, reasonably priced.

One complaint was that the lift was out of order, making it not so easy to get to top floor with baggage.

Room Tip: Clean and comfortable

“Recently refurbished but dont expect too much”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

Stayed here for £47.00 B&B for a familty visit in the area. It was refurbished apparently in March 2011. Hotel pretty ugly from outside. Large reception with a friendly receptionist. Room ok with a Travelodge feel. Reasonable size. Bathroom had a constant sewage smell and although recently redone had a poor finish and was grubby. Shower hard to adjust. It was warm when we were there and the aircon didnt work. I asked Reception and they said it didnt yet work. This meant we had to have the windows open at night and were troubled really badly by the awful foul language through to 2.30 am of youths who had parked in the church car park and were drinking and talking of their conquests with women at top volume. A polite request to be quite was met by a tirade of abuse. No choice but to close the window and make the room a sauna. The hotel advertises air con so very poor that it didnt work. There was no tv in the room on arrival at 2pm and I called reception to be told it would arrive later as it was being repaired. It didnt arrive till 7 ish. Again pretty poor. Safe didnt work and I had to go and ask for batteries for it from reception too. The double bed had a 3 inch broken spring sticking out the side which could have caused serious injury.

Hotel was noisy at night with doors slamming. Breakfast was ok. A fair coice of continental or cooked food.

Area is pretty rough outside and not for venturing out into.

This hotel has now been rebadged the Quality Skyline Hotel but I posted this here as well as it comes up under both names in searches.

Would I recommend. No way. Pay a bit more. Yes you get what you pay for but this hotel depressed me and I was glad to leave.

Room Tip: None of the,

“Budget hotel in almost all respects.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011 via mobile

Booked for 2 nights as needed to be in luton for work. On the positive side the one English speaking receptionst was very friendly and helpful, rooms are of a decent size and there's free (but very slow) WiFi.

However against that weigh the fact that pretty much everything in this hotel is cheap and nasty. Floor tiles are cracked, the tv in the room only has two channels, the bar has three beers but two are 'off', all but one off the staff are only barely able to speak english, and the food in restaurant is both very low quality and expensive.

Basically it's a hotel for builders on away from home contracts most of whom are in the bar or doing the sensible thing and eating takeout in rhe restaurant.

If you need a room in Luton for less than £80 a night its not a bad option but overall a fairly unpleasant place which is a shame as with a bit of effort and the will of the management to not do literally everything on the cheap it could be quite nice.

“Let down by poor standards”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2011

I have to stay in the Luton area every two months and am put up in the hotel by my employers.
In general up until the last two visits I have had no issues. Last visit the "secure car park" was used by boy racers playing loud music until 1.30 in the morning.
This visit a few issues cropped up 1) part of the meal came out cold, this was rectified promptly and a beer was thrown in free as an apology
2) a damp smell is evident in the bathroom
3)the shower area was not clean loads of bits on the floor!
In general it's plus points would be cost and location for Luton airport. But if I was spending my own money and not restricted to budget I would NOT stay here.

“Perfectly acceptable for a one night stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2011

Hotel has a bit of a budget feel about it but this is a perfectly acceptable place to stay. My room was very nicely furnished, staff were very friendly and breakfast perfectly fine the next morning. There's also a massive secure car park which is well worth it for that part of Luton. Only down side is that the walls are a little thin so when a noisy family woke up at 4am so did I.
