“Great hotel in a central location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I stayed at the Hotel at the end of January on an overnight stay on business. I found the hotel Manager and staff very friendly and helpful. My room was spacious, warm, clean and quiet. There was plenty space in the room for me to set up my laptop and get my paperwork completed which was important for me as I was on a business trip..
The hotel is centrally located approximately 15min drive to the airport and a 5 minute walk into the centre of Luton where there are plenty of bars and restaurants.
The breakfast in the hotel was excillent, plenty of choice and well displayed and the food on the hot buffet was not dried out.
All in all a very comfortable stay and will have no hesitation to book this hotel the next time i am in Luton

“Not so good at the weekend.......”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Our first stay at the Days Inn in Luton was in November because we had an early flight from Luton airport and found a great package for a nights accommodation at the Days Inn with car parking at Airparks included. Our flight was on a Tuesday morning so our overnight was a Monday and it was really good.

The staff are really very nice. The room was clean, neat and comfy. The food in the hotel was OK, if a bit freezer/mocrowave fare. But it suited our purposes and we said we would use it again at the right price.

Fast forward to last weekend. Our early fight from Luton was on Saturday morning so we decided to spend the Friday night at the Days Inn as we got a similarly priced package wih car parking included.

The staff were every bit as pleasant as our last stay. The room was still clean, tidy and comfy.

But we hardly got any sleep with all the rather worse for wear nightclubbers coming in from about midnight onwards, banging doors, laughing and shouting in the corridors. The hotel is not far from Luton town centre and is therefore a mere stagger for those not wanting to travel too far for a bed.......

But surely it can't be rocket science for the mangement of this super little hotel to work out which of their clients, like us, are staying the night because they have an early flight and which are staying because it's just a teeter and totter from the nightclubs? Couldn't they simply allocate quiet higher floors for the early risers and keep the revellers on lower floors?

Just a thought that could be considered because we fly regularly from Luton and really would like to use this great hotel/car park package again. But after last Friday nights shenanigans, it's highly unlikely.

“Not as convenient as anticipated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We had an early flight so booked for one night and 7 days parking. It wasn't until the booking had been made that the truth came out. The hotel is in the middle of Luton and 50 minutes was suggested to get from the hotel to the airport carpark. Then there was a bus ride from the car park to the terminal. But the good news was an offer of 20% discount off food in the hotel. As it was Boxing Day we thought we could enjoy a nice meal in the evening. The charge for overnight parking in the multi storey carpark was a bit cheeky. Then seeing notices that there would be no food available added to our annoyance. The room overlooked the road so not much sleep was had. Trying to get back into the carpark to retrieve the car could not be done until the receptionist had woken the attendant from his nap! The price charged was very reasonable but it was not an experience we would be in a hurry to repeat.

Room Tip: Don't expect a good night's sleep if you have a room overlooking the road.

Dear Ms Bennett

Thank you for your review. Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience you faced while you stayed with us. I see frm your booking on our system that you booked your trip with Holiday Extras and the package you bought was a park and fly with your car parked at Airparks. We offer a similar package the only difference being that you park your car in the hotel parking and we transfer you to and from the aiport. This arrangement is more convenient and your holiday starts the moment you check in with us. I am really sorry about the room you were allocated and the noise from the traffic kept you awake, all the windows in the hotel guest rooms are double glazed and we receive very few comments about the noise. I do hoe you give us a chance to serve you again and we look forward to seeing you back in the hotel soon.

Regards

“Sadly, dirty...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I stay in Days hotel Luton very often as my airline is contracted with them. Rooms are always dirty, somebody's hair on the floor, in the bathroom, everywhere - as it would not be cleaned at all! It is also very noisy if your room is facing the road - ask for room on the opposite side as the windows are not noise-proof!
The location is ok, it is very close to the shopping mall and many restaurants. Breakfasts - quite fine, typical english food.

Dear Guest

Thank you very much for your feedback. At the very outset please accept my most sincere apologies for the room not meeting your exacting standards. I notice in your feedback that you have had issues with the cleanliness of your room on previous occassions as well, needles to say I am very dissapointed since the team in the hotel take great pride in the hotel and have received very postive feedback about the guest bedrooms and public areas. Please do contact me when you are in the hotel next so that we can get a more detailed feedback from you and improve the quality of our service. Thank you once again and I look forward to welcoming you back into the hotel soon.

“Great hotel for overnight stay near airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

I have traveled to London last month for business and stayed at the Days Hotel twice during the same trip (one night during the week and then two nights the following weekend).
We arrived in Luton airport and took a taxi to the hotel which cost us about 9 pounds.
The hotel is very comfortable, with nice, accommodating staff offering basic service, good value for money. We arrived at 8 am and were almost certain that we would either have to pay extra to check in early or wait until the check in time. Surprisingly, Beth (I think, sorry, if I don;t remember correctly), the front desk agent on duty was able to check us in! For us, traveling all night, it meant the world at that time.

The downside was that even if the hotel advertises free internet in the brochure of the chain that is put in the room, there is no free internet everywhere. You have to pay, even in the lobby.

The rooms are comfortable, clean with good heating. Like some of you noticed in your reviews, the rooms at the front, near the street are pretty noisy even with the window closed so we asked for a room in the back for the weekend and the staff was nice and accommodated us. We had dinner one night in the restaurant which offers a basic menu and it was ok, as well as the breakfast which was plenty with a variety of cold and hot dishes to choose from.

In Luton the location of the hotel is very good. It is within walking distance from a shopping mall (about 5 mins.) and from the train station (about 8 mins). We also rented a car from a local car rental place nearby.

The only downside to all this was the distance from Luton to London. Of course, nothing to do with the hotel, but if you have business to attend to in London, I would nor recommend staying in Luton. Of course it is cheaper, but the train to get to London takes about 30 - 50 minutes, depending on how busy it is and also it is very expensive.

Just a tip for first time travelers, rooms in London and in the surrounding areas are much cheaper in the weekends than during the week so plan accordingly if you can.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms that are not facing the main street. They are noisy.
