“It was seriously not that bad!”

I stayed here for one night after flying back from germany. I was on a tight budget so I thought this would be suitable! To be honest, I was expecting the worst, because I normally stay in 3 or 4 star hotels, but for the price and standard, it was seriously ok.
I was greeted with a very polite man, who was extremely friendly and helpful. I had originally booked into a single bed room, but he asked if I would like to upgrade to an en-suite, which I'm quite glad that I did. The room was fine, clean and not too pokey. However, there was a strange smell which I think was dampness coming from the bathroom. Still, the best thing which I discovered under the extra pillows was a kids star wars 'light saber'. Wow, that kept me entertained for a good 5 minutes. The breakfast is nothing special, just help yourself to toast etc, but what do u expect for £35?!
Overall, I thought my stay was fine. The staff were all pleasant and for the value, its absolutely fine!

“Please DO NOT stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

I checked into a single room with a shared bathroom as I was on a budget. However wouldn't have paid £5 for my room let alone £35. The duvet was dirty, cobwebs on the walls and the room itself was about the size of a prison cell. As for the shared bathroom, that really was a joke. It is the kind of place that you would pay for the rooms by the hour rather than the night!
I asked to leave as I was not happy, the very polite gentleman pointed to a small print sign hanging behind reception that said "No Refunds once you have checked in" and that was about as far as his customer service skills went. Im not surprised they have this policy.

“Not as advertised”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2010

Booked this via hotels.com and instead of the 11am check out as printed on invoice they insisted we check out at 10:30 am! To top it all the room was pokey and didn't even have toilet or shower facilities. Staff just didn't care either - I have family there and visit often so they could have had a regular customer - their loss.

“pretty avarage”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2010

Traveled up from kent for a friends wedding with the wife and spent the one night there. check in was brisk, they helped the couple before us up with there bags but not us, i could manage on my own anyway but the other half moaned about that. Rooms were clean, the double bed was just 2 singles pushed together. Got woken up at around 3am asking to keep the noise down, but it was the couple opposite us who were arguing and they got the wrong door, so i was not happy about that. Put it this way, i wouldnt go back there.

“Not as bad as some have said!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2010

After spending some time looking for the hotel we were welcomed by a most helpful and polite gentleman, carrying our cases into the reception, then to our room. Room was small but with clean, crisp white sheets. A Pizza was ordered in for us, a bottle of wine very reasonable at £6.99. Our assistant even found a bedside light. He was from New Dheli and had just completed a Masters degree in Business studies. He also worked at McDonalds, what a waste of an obviously very clever young man. I hope he goes far.
