As other reviewers have mentioned, most people stay for just the one night in between flight connections and this is something I feel the hotel banks on.
We are a family of four, two adults and two kids. The room we were given was tiny to say the least. There was a double bed for my wife and I and one single sized sofa bed for my two kids to share! With the sofa bed extended, there was hardly any room for our two standard sized suitcases and even much less to walk around in.
We checked in at around 3pm after arriving at Luton airport and we had an early morning flight the next day (4am wake up). The plan was to get ourselves fed and have an early night. Unfortunately, food is not served at the hotel till 6pm and only crisps and snacks are 'available' from a vending machine. Thankfully we had a few bit and pieces to eat in our hand luggage but in the end we had to go to bed hungry else wait till 6.00 to eat. Not very good planning for an airport hotel!
Breakfast was not much better. Hot breakfasts are only available from 6am so the next morning at 5am - the time we were leaving for the airport - we had to contend with just cereal and sliced bread, horrible watered down juices and even worse coffee. Other airport hotels either have hot breakfast available from very early morning or at the very least, arrange a packed breakfast for you. The breakfast area wasn't even manned at that time! The only member of staff was the receptionist.
All this for £80. We have stayed at the Premier Inn at Gatwick which is cheaper, the rooms are larger and meals are served at least 18 hours a day.
Next time, we'll stay at the Premier Inn at Luton which is a bit further from the airport but worth it. We only stayed at the Holiday Inn because it was closer.
On hindsight, I'd rather stay further away and get a better service. Holiday Inn? Holiday Out for me from now on!
Room Tip: Try and get the disabled rooms if possible. I was told by another guest that they are much larger! D...

Dear Guest
Thank you for feedback, we are very sorry we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. In regards to the room all rooms are of a standard size and very similar to other hotels in the area.
We are limited by our brand standards on the Food and Beverage offering we can offer, and continue work with IHG to develop and extend our offering.
Breakfast is complementary and do advertise that there is a limited offer from 4am.
We do hope that you would consider using us again in the future.
Kind Regards
Paul Jasper
