“Best B&B Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Stayed for 2 & 3 night stays on business over a period of three months. Quite simply the best B&B, and in the top few hotels I've stayed at. Kathy and Kate's friendly nature and attention to detail is second to none - they could teach a few 5 star hotels I have stayed in how to look after their guests. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and superbly laid out and the breakfasts are superb. Chase is far better than any hotel I've stayed in in the Newbury area.

“The pick of the bunch in Newbury!”

Kathy & Kate are excellent hosts who take great pride in everything they do and the quality they provide. From the welcome, to the room furnishings, breakfast (variety, freshly prepared and tasty), toiletries and the general atmosphere of the place. They also provide honest advice about local places to eat and visit.

“Excellent B&B”

Needed overnight accomodation at short notice, fed up staying in the usual hotel chains so had a search on Tripadvisor for a B&B, found this place and was not disappointed.
Very friendly welcome, offered welcome drink, then shown to room. I had a large double at the rear of the property. Was a good size with en-suite bathroom (seperate bath & shower) with a large selection of (mainly Radox) toiletries.
Bedroom had plenty of storage, huge bed, Sony tv with freeview & a very good coffee maker.
Local pub about a 10 minute walk along country road, nothing special but very adequate for a quiet pint and typical (large serving) pub food.
I found my mobile phone signal was intermitent, but being in the heart of Vodafone territory with a T-mobile phone probably didn't help :-)
Excellent nights sleep in the large comfortable bed.
Breakfast the next morning was outstanding, full cooked breakfast with the majority of items sourced within a couple of miles radius from the B&B. No shortage of additional items to eat where offered.
Check-out was friendly & straightforward.
Would definately stay over here again without hesitation.

“Incredible B&B, The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

Wow! Of the 7 B&Bs we stayed in during our trip to England and Ireland, Kathy and Kate's place was #1 in every way. Personable, friendly hostesses. Great breakfast with beautiful presentation and fresh fruits. Kathy even did our laundry for us for a nominal fee. Great rooms, the most comfortable beds. Immaculate bathrooms with strong water pressure and high end toiletries. The decor and furnishings were very well done and classy. Easy to get to and great parking spots. Close to the lovely town of Newbury and the A34, a major thoroughfare. Easy access to many locations. A great place for a home base as you explore the western part of England. Half hour to Oxford and one hour to the lovely town of Bristol. We highly recommend staying with Kathy and Kate. You'll not want to leave.

Room Tip: All rooms were great and very quiet.

“Excellent little place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

I was in Newbury on business and stayed at the Chase Guest House for a week in the delux double room. Check in and check out were very quick and easy. The place was very clean, warm and tidy with a nice shower cabin and a bath in the en-suit. There was a good selection of toiletries and teas provided. The service was excellent - the room was cleaned daily and breakfast was cooked to order every morning. Kathy left a selection of fruit in the dining area for us to snack on in the evenings. She couldn't have been more helpful at recommending places to eat nearby and gave a few voucher deals for restaurants in Newbury town centre. I would recommend this place to anyone.
