“I enjoyed the food”

I booked this on last minute - then looked at the reviews on trip advisor, perhaps the wrong way round. After reading the reviews recently I did wonder what I had booked. I found the food really tasty - Duck really good, my hubby was less impressed with his moules - but eat them all and loved the garlic bread. The room was clean, the bed super comfy and cosy.The ensuite shower room was small - but the shower was good, and all that we needed. Breakfast again was lovely really good fresh poached eggs ( amazing how any large hotels serve rock hard bullets ! ) the guy doing the cooking & serving was really friendly and everything was served freshly cooked and really quick. We would certainly return and recommend to friends as good value for money and a lovely warm welcome, I will add at this point I am fussy and review honestly to assist other travellers. I hope you find this useful.

We ar really pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and enjoyed your Duck....you'll have to send me your receipe for mussels! :)
Its always nice to receive genuinue comments as it allows us to maintain/improve the standars we strive to obtain and Ive replaced the soap dispencer this morning!

Food great but staff well what miserys you have Shadrack from Emmerdale and Olive from on the buses with blonde hair who did not look happy to serve and assist when we arrived

Im please you enjoyed your food at the Bell.
I responded to your other comments via Tripadvisor and requested you contacted me directly as customer service is parampunt at the Bell. Regretably you havent done this and the staff you refer to are higly upset that they have given you anything but a positive opinion of the Bell and are obviously personally upset about your derogatory comparisions to tv soap characters. Hardly helpful, constructive comments. As you are clearly avide TV soap watchers Im sure readers of your first review will take your comments accordingly.and can compare them to the comments that the character Benny, (the village idiot, for those of you that never watched it), from Crossroads, would make.
I welcome all reviews but personal attacks are not acceptable.
Clearly Im dissappointed that you wish to hide behind the ananimity of Trip Advisor as I really would have liked to know about any problems. As the staff concerned think they know who you are I will take your comments at an attempt to be houmorous. Unfortunately the staff do not share your sense of humor

“Unfortunately didn't actually stay.....”

Was booked via my company's booking system to stay one night.arrived to be told my company had "booked the wrong night" and they were full.I was very tired after a long day and panicked as didn't know the area at all. The staff did their best and managed to find a room in the b&b opposite,which was very nice .i ate at the bell and the food was superb.phoned my hotel bookers the next day to complain and they claimed to have written confirmation from the bell for the correct night.dont suppose I will ever know what happened and i did get a free glass of wine, but the experience of being 100 miles from home and facing sleeping in my car has probably put me off trying to book there again

“Traditional burns night”

We participated in a fantastic burns night which consisted of traditional foods and whiskey. The atmosphere was fantastic with people taking part in addressing the haggis and toasting the men and the lassies. Food was fantastic and great value for 16.95. Staff were friendly and very attentive. A great fun filled night.

“Christmas with a Smile”

we had our works christmas party at the Bell at Boxford, the pub was decorated beautifully, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was fantastic. The food was second to none and the service was just as good!!

i would highly recommend the Bell for anyone who wants fantastic food, friendly staff and a relaxed and fun evening!
