“Had a fantastic holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

We stayed at The Kenton September 6th-9th 2011, we loved it.
The room was a little bit dated & a couple of things in the room do need fixing but the room was spacious with high ceilings (beautiful coving) and a huge window overlooking the North Bay :)

We found it very peaceful & restful with a comfy bed (which I don't often find when I'm away from home) and a good, hot shower.
Breakfast was great, lots of choice, filling tasty cooked food and a lovely bright room to eat in.

We were welcomed by Duane when we arrived and were impressed with his open, friendly and relaxed attitude throughout our stay.
He and the staff went out of their way to ask if we were ok / if the room was warm enough / we had enough for breakfast / needed anything at all. They were always happy and smiling when we were around. Nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed for three nights, it was just fantastic. It was in town with good amenities but away from the bustle & amusements. It was warm, comfortable and quiet.
With free, on-site parking! Quite a rare thing I think in Scarborough.

We had a great trip, we would absolutely come back to stay and we would definitely recommend to friends, family and anyone else visiting Scarborough.
You are doing a great job and we wish you all the best :)

“" Its my home from home"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

This is my home from home. Having Dwane meet you at the door is like meeting up with an old friend, nothing is too much trouble. This was my 6th visit in three years and I would not dream of going anywhere else. My room, as i like to call it, is the same one i ask for each time and it's great, right at the top of the house, with the most fantastic views. The room is very clean as is the bathroom, with everything you require for your chill out time. Its location is ideal for all the sights and sounds of Scarborough, especially the cricket ground, where i while away my days.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Kenton. The location is perfect, near the town and only a short walk to the beach!!! We were made to feel very welcome and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We highly recommend The Kenton to anyone and we will definately be back soon! It made our stay in Scarborough that little bit more special!!!

“great wkend away and great view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

well i m not entirely sure how i found the kenton hotel now as i booked it soo long ago but it may of been on facebook . well we were booked in friday 12th aug 2011. we travelled up on the friday and made a stop to a fantastic chippy which has now changed names to crossgates and well worth the drive anyday !! 10/10 curlew drive incase you fancie a trip ;0) so i had comunicated with duane on facebook before i arrived and so i alrready knew he was a good guy and friendly. we arrived with ease and there was a car park which was tight but better than paying and plenty good enough . greeted by smiling staff which is always a 10/10 in my book! we were checked easy and away we go. the room we had was no.3 and it was a family room with the cracking view ! this was a good size family room enough for the kids to move about. glad i checked we had this one as i would of been verry dissapointed otherwise but i love a view! the room smelt beautiful and for the life of me i could not find where the smell came from as whenever we came back t was there as fresh as ever!!?? really nice . the kids were please with bunkbeds, and the double was nice and comfy. breakfast was a little early for our tastes and a lttle short 8.30-9am, but it was very tasty and looked fantastic. again friendly smiling staff. the hotel had wifi which i signed into easy then my son struggled till he went down stairs so maybe sign in there first. we really enjoyed our stay and we were close to peasholme park, shops, cafes, a kids park - little walk , top open bus stop , town centre and of course the BEACH ;0) location is great!! i do have a few things on the bad points but nothing major- the seagulls are really noisy n the mornings so close the windows if you like your sleep like us ! i think the shared toilet/batroom was next to us and i am a light sleeper so at 6am i did hear that a bit but not at any other time so not that bad. our room had a little sofa which i would take out and build a little raised seat or even a table and chairs (small one ) because the view is beautiful and it was a shame we had to stand or kneel to see it. i would of enjoyed a drink at the table looking out . shelf for the coffee was too small just a bigger shelf was needed really so u didnt have to carry the kettle about . the keysholder/fob was a little big for me . just a bit smaller , im sure its to help with loss of keys but it took a lot of room up in my bag ;0)

overal we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to everyone, friendly staff and comfy beds!

thanks duane you made our stay very good and welcoming !! thank you .
